am i the only one?

Re: am i the only one?

There are few fundamentals in fashion
1) If you are showing legs then don't show cleavage and vice versa
2) Both your top and bottom can not be of loose fitting. If you have flowy tops wear tight bottoms and if your bottom is puffy you top should be fitted.
Long kameez do no go with wide pants.

Re: am i the only one?

EXACTLY bebo!!

agree totally with your rules and your final statement!! a long flowly shirt with churidaar or a slim pyjama wouldnt look that bad!

Re: am i the only one?

So do any of you living outside of Pak wear them outdoors?

Re: am i the only one?

no because they are hideous. I stick to my standard shalwar kameez my overly baggy trousers with overly baggy long kameez are sitting in my cupboard

Re: am i the only one?

I love long shirts!

Re: am i the only one?

I was really hesitant about this style when it first came out and didn't like it but I have to say it has grown on me..........immensely..........I love it now!

But I have to say I don't like the trousers too baggy..........something in the middle between the extremes is fine :)

Re: am i the only one?

I love long skirts, long shirts, long coats :)

Re: am i the only one?

long shirts all the way...the grace that comes with long shirts can never come by wearing short shirts...

i hope this trend stays for long

Re: am i the only one?

^ yes :k:

Re: am i the only one?

When I was here in the UK and I saw the fashion trend in Lahore I was not very happy, it seemed odd to me, but I have to say when I went over myself and saw all the females I actually liked the new fashion trend. You feel like the od one out of you wear something else. I couldn't wait for my clothes to be stithced to I bought soem readymade ones to "blend in" till my outfits were ready.
It was the same when short shirts came into fashion. I do think though that when we dress we should also see if the current trend suits our build, shape and size. We can always adapt the new fashion and make a few adjustments so it flatters us not makes us look silly.

Re: am i the only one?

^ wow u summed up our thoughts well :balley:

Re: am i the only one?

Mrs NM, you are right in the sense that in Pakistan every one just starts wearing whatever is the current fashion regardless of if it suits them or not. Also if you do not follow fashion you standout and it starts to look weird then.

Re: am i the only one?

It's just not in Pakistan but in Dubai too. If you don't follow the fashion, people make fun of you.

Re: am i the only one?

At least here in USA you can wear whatever you want :hehe:
Anything goes… short shirts, long shirts, patiyaalas… heck, I even saw some girls (in their 20s) at the masjid wearing ghararas on Eid :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: am i the only one?

^
ghararas :omg:

I wasn’t into the long shirts and cullottes initially because i’ll be honest when I saw a friend in them I didn’t like them at all. Eventually I developed a liking.

Re: am i the only one?

i love the long shirts but i dont like the Wide bottomed trousers. I think they look ok as long as u are wearing heels but as i live in my flat balerina pumps or khussas, the "flappers" just dont look right! I've got a couple of ready made azaars and kameez's and to be honest i tend to wear the shirts with churiaddars rather than the trousers.
Is there any sign of the trend changing in Pakistan????
