There are few fundamentals in fashion
1) If you are showing legs then don't show cleavage and vice versa
2) Both your top and bottom can not be of loose fitting. If you have flowy tops wear tight bottoms and if your bottom is puffy you top should be fitted.
Long kameez do no go with wide pants.
I was really hesitant about this style when it first came out and didn't like it but I have to say it has grown on me..........immensely..........I love it now!
But I have to say I don't like the trousers too baggy..........something in the middle between the extremes is fine :)
When I was here in the UK and I saw the fashion trend in Lahore I was not very happy, it seemed odd to me, but I have to say when I went over myself and saw all the females I actually liked the new fashion trend. You feel like the od one out of you wear something else. I couldn't wait for my clothes to be stithced to I bought soem readymade ones to "blend in" till my outfits were ready.
It was the same when short shirts came into fashion. I do think though that when we dress we should also see if the current trend suits our build, shape and size. We can always adapt the new fashion and make a few adjustments so it flatters us not makes us look silly.
Mrs NM, you are right in the sense that in Pakistan every one just starts wearing whatever is the current fashion regardless of if it suits them or not. Also if you do not follow fashion you standout and it starts to look weird then.
At least here in USA you can wear whatever you want
Anything goes… short shirts, long shirts, patiyaalas… heck, I even saw some girls (in their 20s) at the masjid wearing ghararas on Eid
I wasn’t into the long shirts and cullottes initially because i’ll be honest when I saw a friend in them I didn’t like them at all. Eventually I developed a liking.
i love the long shirts but i dont like the Wide bottomed trousers. I think they look ok as long as u are wearing heels but as i live in my flat balerina pumps or khussas, the "flappers" just dont look right! I've got a couple of ready made azaars and kameez's and to be honest i tend to wear the shirts with churiaddars rather than the trousers.
Is there any sign of the trend changing in Pakistan????
