Am I a racist?

Re: Am I a racist?

How is my comment racist? Did I say that I would look down upon those desis who are darker in complexion? You didn't answer my question. What If your daughter wanted to marry a dark Indian Muslim?

Re: Am I a racist?

^^I didnt say you will, neither do i.... What about you? Would you be okay?

Re: Am I a racist?

I don't have a problem with interracial marriages. I would actually encourage my daughter to marry him, only If he is a good person of course.

Re: Am I a racist?

thats nice to know, what if your grand child does not understand your language and speaks zanzibari

If they live away from Pakistan it's more likely the future generations won't speak urdu or punjabi or whatever anyway tho.. doesn't matter if ur kids marry other desis who are settled there.. their kids will prob not be that bothered.. In any case the 'chain' will be broken within a couple of generations.. Imo humans will eventually more or less all end up a mid brown/tan colour thru mixing..

I will try to teach them my language and If they don't want to learn, well then it's their decision and choice. I would not love them any less because of that.

Not everyone has the same attachment to their 'mother tongue.' Obviously it would be nice if my kids spoke my parents languages but I'm not so bothered that it would stop me inviting 'outsiders' into my family.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind one bit if my (future) kids married black Muslims.. sitting at the dining table would be like being at the UN :D

Nah, she's half French.. I just wanted to show how gorgeous black mixes can be..

Re: Am I a racist?

Nice to know that...I have no issues with interratial marriages, but its about losing your culture, way of life, may be i'm little insecure and a little myopic as well.

Re: Am I a racist?

In my opinion saying ONLY MARRY MUSLIMS is as prejudiced as ONLY MARRY DESIS..

You can invoke religion to defend this racism but it's still prejudiced. At the end of the day you are discriminating against somebody based on their caste faith race gender etc etc.

Re: Am I a racist?

errr i might also have the same issues due to cultural differences and other stuff. I dont think that makes anyone racist.I wud still be concerned if my daughter wud want to marry a Japanese or even some arab sheikh.

Nonsense.

Thats not racism it's religous discrimination and a valid criterion if the person feels it will bring about conflict.

It brings the " A bail muje maar" saying to it's head.

Re: Am I a racist?

Faris.. I didn't call it racism.. I called it prejudice.. maybe you should read posts twice before jumping to conclusions.

Re: Am I a racist?

Haha

Nice one editing it :k:

Thats egjakly what I'm talking about.

and what is the issue that you anticipate?

Editing it? HAHHAHHAHAH !!!

Dude.. when you edit a post.. it says on the bottom of the post that i was edited.. do u see that in any of my above posts? hahah… you know how ridiculous you look right now? seriously! just admit it that you didnt read my post properly and assumed that I called it racism..

prejudiced is when you are taking decision on your own, not when you are BOUNDED by religion. Marrying a Muslim is not YOUR decision. you are DIRECTED to do this while marrying a NON-DESI is YOUR decision, there is no such restriction in religion.

got it?

for once I would have happily married this beauty from Turkey but kambakhat vacations per turkey per gaee aur shadi ker leee :)

Well to an atheist like me this IM BOUNDED BY RELIGION ITS NOT MY FAULT excuse doesnt fly. You are simply giving the reason for your prejudice. It's still prejudice. It's still religious discrimination.

I would have not posted it had i know this before. Off course this will not fly for you. :)

happy GSing

PS: by the way Its a prejudice that you have made you mind that no religious reasoning is right ... :)
