I dont think I’m a racist. I dont judge people based on their color.

But, I have issues if my sister or may be daughter marries a black Nigerian muslim or black zanzibari muslim.

Would you have same concern?

Does that make me a racist?? Or I think, its normal human trait to be racist to some degree.

The question is, why would you have issues if your daughter marries a Nigerian Muslim? What issues would that be?

I would call it prejudice and not racism, but would like to know what the issues are though. Please tell.

From what your saying it depends if theres a reason for it?

Indeed sometimes one has generall cultural grievances... but to label whole nations, people or ethnicities on one stereotype... now thats racism.

Mind you racism is bad but not as bad as inhumanity... if your wise enough to ask the question in the first place thats a positive step.

A lot of racists are also inhuman they will lose any concept of humanity and then they become nothing but evil to others and themselves.

What If he was a dark Indian Muslim? Would it be OK then? There are quite alot Indians which are as dark as Sub-Saharan Africans. So yeah...

Islam has no place for racism based on colour, some of the earliest Muslims were the most varied followers of any prophet.

Islam is perfect, but I'm not, coz I'm a human.............my fellow co-workers are black and they are one of the best people I've met.........but, I have minor preferences whats the big deal about it???

But seriously i understand what you mean sort of…

it’s like i wouldn’t marry a woman from say the Orgid or Dogra tribes who might be Muslim converts but who famously opposed Muslims in the old days.

Even if ur own kids chose to marry within ur race it's more than likely ur grandkids and future generations wont.. Apart from prejudice/racism being morally wrong not much point trying to fight the inevitable if there's no good reason to imo..

Your personal preferences might be ok for you but it's not ok to impose them on the rest of ur family..

And to throw the can here... even if you had two of the palest individuals married together theres no garuntee the kid wont be lighter or darker...
