Alternative to

Whats a good way of taming cravings for anything..
in my casse chocolate.

And that whole theory I will just have a little :nono: doesnt work for me.

How do you guys control cravings?

Re: Alternative to

I stoped buying chocolate and the box I have at the moment, i'll just take a small piece so it can last long.

Re: Alternative to

Nope that wont wory for me - I dont have much going on at work so thats my excuse to take a break and walk to the candy store.

Maybe I should start smoking.

Re: Alternative to

muniya, then the smoke will make you feel full and you will lose more weight.

Re: Alternative to

eat soooo much chocolate that it makes u sick.

Re: Alternative to

^
i agree..i used to have craving for COKE ..i drank soo much that i puke…so now NO COKE for me:nono:

Re: Alternative to

Walk to the candy store without your money/valet. I did this with starbucks & campus bookstore, I was so addicted to frapacinos(spell), hershy's an mnm's. You just have to force yourself to leave to go empty hand, a time will come when it becomes embarrassing to just roam in the shop when you are not going to buy anything, eventually you'll stop going there.

Re: Alternative to

Lusi: Then what will I do to kill time?

FF & Natalie: I thought I did that yesterday until I saw a Cadbury today, I wanted to dive right in.

Re: Alternative to

Budget for it.

Take out some money from your bank on the 1st of the month and then say this is for my cravings. Be strict and don't use CC or extra cash to buy yourself choclate. If they are offered for free, estimate the cost and give it in Sadqa from your craving budget.

Then slowly reduce the craving budget month by month.

This also works for those who think they spend too much money on eating out or shopping.

p.s: That will be $10 for this great tip :D

Re: Alternative to

$10? Is that going to go towards your craving fund?
:hehe:

So how much do you set aside a month and how much is good for chocolate and coffee addicts like me?

Re: Alternative to

read a book, surf web, walk around (just window shop), start some sort of project... by the way what kind of job do you have that gives you so much free time on hands? ....me jealous....

Re: Alternative to

I agree with femme. I was addicted to KFC. Once I ate like 8 pieces of chicken. Then I puked. I never ate it again.

Re: Alternative to

Put a rubber band on your wrist, whenever you get a craving, pull back and watch the fun :D

Re: Alternative to

visit the religion section of GS, read and reflect on every post :D you won't have anythime left for chocolate hunting as you'll be too busy proving yourself/your opinion :D

Re: Alternative to

Lusi: I am an accountant but I jsut started at a new place hence all the time.
I am sure I wont have time soon.

I think I will try the rubber band idea.

Re: Alternative to

I dont buy. With me its sort of “Have , will eat” so i stopped buying it and over period of time, i got controll over it and just last week, I went to a dinner and I did not drink COCA COLA (although muftay ka tha) :yahoo:

Re: Alternative to

~MuNiYa~, I am a miser, so it takes care of the cravings. ;-)

Start with whatever you currently spend on these things. Do you know how much you spend on your cravings?

Oh and for the coffee. Drink half a cup twice a day if you think you feel the need to drink coffee after lunch. The size of the servings matter a lot. So when you buy chocolate buy it in the smallest serving pack you can find. We have these Swiss chocolates at home that are thin as a razor.

p.s: That will be another $10. :D

Re: Alternative to

KHABADAAAR !!! :mad::smilestar:

Being full of chocolate is better than smelling like smoke and damaging ur health

Re: Alternative to

Trust me muniya, even ruiner agrees! Get urself a whole box and eat eat and eat till u are absolutely sick and want to throw up and voila, ur free.

Re: Alternative to

The eat till you puke doesn't work for everyone. I have tried it on some other cravings, it only made them worse toba toba
