Alternative and Complementary therapies

Hi people..do any of you have any experiences you’d like sharing of yourself/friends/families using complemntary or alternative therapies to treat illnesses or provide relief that normal medicine hasn’t been able too?

Praying

i knew a friend of mine who's brother suffered a spinal injury found a village healer of great use. he also sweared by reiki's impact.

probably more psychological and spiritual than directly physical.

My Aunt has been working with this group of people for a few years who practice Dianetics and use it to cure illnesses, she herself now provides services to people. and the stories i have heard from her seem to prove it to be effectice.

I myself have experienced it a few times, they have this method called Assist. I had a backache once and my Aunt gave me an assist and even though i am not sure how but my ache just vanished, it did come back but it vanished then and there and i didn't feel any pain at all for a while.

There is another therapy called Accounting, which helps release all negative thoughts and has helped people suffering from severe depression and not just mental illnesses but also physical illnesses.

Anyways i have seen quite a few people getting relief so there sure must be something to it.

I have attended a few seminars on it and also have a book on it so if anyone's interested i can post some info for them.

totally off the topic zakk....but your signanture goes perfect with your personality!!!

I went for holistic healing once, where an aromatherapist talks to you first about your problems - physical or mental and then considering those, she gives you a full body massage to take out the knots and tension. It worked wonders.

Angel4ever, I'd love some more info.

I've had accupuncture, mainly to alleviate pregnancy related problems, but have had some sessions afterwards too. I've always wanted to try Reiki but never had the opportunity.

Harris had bad colic as a baby and had some cranial osteopathy which worked a treat.

Umm thanks..I think

Back to the topic at hand..what do you guys think of relexology?

Oh yeah Joshanda is a great Pakistani remedy for a cold..

^ Zakk in life and vo bhi blushing? faints

He's just helping his sis out.

as i keep telling people..it’s not conceit if it’s true

Oh yeah Vitamin E oil for acne..now that’s a good one.. (and yes I am helping out my sis)

lol.Very funny.

Btw I heard that honey and vinegar are also remedies for acne. And for nausea ,a cup of water with 2tbls of honey before breakfast. (For certain ailments ,there are also these products that use magnetic energy or something…uh let me go look at what exactly its called.)

Shahreen-- One of these days we should venture into world forum.

Ive had reflexology done, but for no particular ailment...it just hurts like hell! feels good afterwards though.

 :nono4:

by the way someone who has such pretty green eyes is allowed to be concieted! ;)

I'll post some details soon for u :)

I have been an intern for some time by this GP who also performs 'functional medicine' as he calls it. At first very sceptical, I'am not very much intrigued by such 'alternative' therapies. I think something like bioresonance could be of great benefit for normal medicine as well

I have been around people who used numerous alternative therapies from aromatherapy to homeopathic medicine to flower bach therapy to colour therapy to herbs to kinesiology to massage therapy to reiki to shiatsu to reflexology to touch for health and what not depending on the ailments.

About reflexology..its shouldn't really hurt you..its done on feet mostly but can be done on hands..they believe that all the nerves to different body parts are connected to hand and feet..so for eg..if you work on your foot..you can reduce your tooth ache..actually there are some socks available now that have the whole body printed on them..which helps you do massage or a technique on that certain part. But a reflexologist always refers you to a doctor as they are required by their profession to do if they predict something.

Hope that helps :-)

If none of the above help try walking on a pebble beach. Without shoes.
