altaf Hussein

I was watching ARY news today and I saw Altaf Hussein, the MQM leader, giving a speech to like thousands of people in Lahore. Now, I haven been that upto date on Pakistani politics lately but I do remember that he was the guy responsible for the slaughter of thousands of innocents ppl in Karachi in the 90’s. In those days he was in London or something like that and he was supposed to be arrested as soon as he entered Pakistan, no matter when that was.
So, I’d like to be updated plz. Has he been forgiven or have th pakistani ppl forgotten? And since when has he become the saviour of the poor punjabi farmer?

Re: altaf Hussein

lol hes one loud ugly a hole.if he ever comes back here he'll get murdered like his brother was murdered..hes got a lot of enemies here.hes living off the 'bhata money' in London as much as 30 crore according to some estimates.

Re: altaf Hussein

Him and his party are being 100% supported by fellow Mohajir Musharraf, which is why they are recieving all these benefits and advantages.

Once the govt changes, they will resume their killings

Re: altaf Hussein

They have already done a lot of killing in Karachi.

If u have been uptodate bout a year back most of police officers in Karachi who were in anyway involved in Karachi operation were murdered.

Re: altaf Hussein

That guy is evil and khooni. Another worst episode of their 90s show is yet to come.

Re: altaf Hussein

I doubt that the relationship between govt and MQM is because of Musharraf's being mohajir... its more likely the interest of Musharraf to put on a government show for which he needed some actors and MQM needed some power to feel good again.

Re: altaf Hussein

If Musharraf is such an equal-opportunity, racially unbiased and tolerant individual...then tell me why did he promote mohajirs to corp-commanders on 9 out 14 posts available...unprecedented in PA history...

Re: altaf Hussein

Musharraf has been encouraging the MQM to become a national party. Its already won seats in the AJK elections and because of its hard work during the earthquake it does have a chance of winning the odd seat in NWFP.

Re: altaf Hussein

:k: Mohajirs like Altaf Hussein want to change the map of Pakistan according to their will.. They will force merger of Pakistan with India and make everyone eat Behari Idli-dosa and laddus

Re: altaf Hussein

And so shall begin the era of bhatha collection, extortion, murder and kidnapping in NWFP as well...MQM is just looking to expand its markets...after sucking the business community and ordinary citizens of Karachi dry, they are looking for fresh and juicy alternatives...

Re: altaf Hussein

People dont have much money in NWFP when compared to Karachi.. So, MQM thugs will get nothing except old guns and donkeys as extortion.

Re: altaf Hussein

Dont ever ask any kashmirir how MQM won these seats.one of my relatives witnessed the badmashi of MQM people during the election, in many polling stations more votes were polled then registered.

Thier work for Earth quake was just marketing startegy, it was widely reported that MQM sector incharges soled the donated items in karachi markets.

Re: altaf Hussein

Just wondering why not that question was raised when 13 out of 14 posts were held by Punjabis during 2 different eras. Although I believe in selection on total merit but I also understand that these things DO happen sometime intentionally and sometime un-intentionally.

Mohajirs are in real minority in Army and Govt support for MQM can not continue without all the top generals on board and that include generals from all ethnicity. COAS is most important person and calls the shots but he is useless without the support of his commanders. Example was when Musharraf was overthrown; his commanders were with him rather than with the new “legal” COAS so he prevailed…

Basically Musharraf (or govt) need MQM so that he can remain in power in Sindh and in Central. The day he will have some other 20-30 members, he will kick MQM out coz their pressure techniques are too much to deal with

As far as winning the seats is concerned by bogus vote, you can not single out MQM. Every party does that. We used to live in an area in Karachi where we were threatened by different parties from time to time (depending who is holding the area at the time of election) be it MQM, MQM Haqiqi, Panjabi Pakhtoon Ittehad (Sarwar Awan the killer), PML (Nawaz) etc

Re: altaf Hussein

Altaf launched "Muttahida" QM looong before Musharraf came on scene and its party had started working on that.

Re: altaf Hussein

Yeah just like Punjabis want to join the eastern Punjab, right? Wrong, just as Punjabis don’t want to unite with Pakistani Punjab similarly MQM forcing a union with India is just your imagination fed by ISI.

Re: altaf Hussein

That was kind of wrong, but given the fact that majority of the PA personnel were either Punjabis or Pathan, their presence in the high ranking officership was to an extend understandable...However, what Busharraf is doing is taking a section of PA personnel who are a minority within the PA and promoting them way over their proportion...he should/could have started with promoting mohajir generals to corp commandar based on their porportion...instead of promoting them across the board...this would create a lot of resentment in the traditionally Punjabi/Pathan dominated military, maybe even lead to Busharraf's downfall...

Re: altaf Hussein

Hussein is a moron, trouble maker. I suggest they send him to prison.

We should keep all non Punjabis in check. :D

**Accept Line of Control temporarily: Altaf Hussain **

By Amit Baruah

NEW DELHI, NOV. 6. He rejects division, but upholds the realities of the Partition. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader, Altaf Hussain, hogged the limelight at an international conference here, calling for the temporary acceptance of the Line of Control (LoC) as a border to continue talks between India and Pakistan.
For the last 12 years, the London-based Mr. Hussain has been addressing public gatherings in Pakistan by telephone. Today, he finally got the opportunity to address his audience live — but it happened to be in the “land of his ancestors”, India, and not in the country of his birth, Pakistan.
It was more a performance than a speech. He waved his arms about, invited the foreigners present at the conference organised by Hindustan Times to come up to the stage and ask them to distinguish a Hindu from a Muslim.
He spoke about how far Pakistanis of Indian origin had to travel to Lahore to cross the border into India — why could not the border at Khokrapar be thrown open for Pakistanis and Indians to use?
`Not war’

Mr. Hussain brought the house down by his pronunciation of the External Affairs Minister, Natwar Singh’s name. It was not Natwar, but “Not War”, Mr. Hussain said. And, till “Not War” was in office, there could not be any war between India and Pakistan.
At one stage, he tried to prove that the MQM, formerly known as the Mohajir (as "refugees from India are known’') Qaumi Movement, was the only political party in Pakistan that did not discriminate against any religion. For good effect, he called out the name of “Mr. Devdas,” a Hindu member of the Pakistani National Assembly, as proof of his assertion. Mr. Devdas was made to walk all around the conference room in order to identify himself.
Pointing out that both India and Pakistan had performed brilliantly on the front of population growth, Mr. Hussain rejected “Partition” since the people of India and Pakistan had the same genetic make-up.
"The division of the sub-continent was the greatest blunder," he thundered to cheers from the audience. “It was the division of blood, culture, brotherhood, relationships,” he said, switching from English to Urdu.
A few minutes later, in true demagogue style, he said the Partition, however, had taken place and it was better for India and Pakistan to accept the realities. “We should accept and respect each other. It is better for both countries and the people. The people should live in love, peace and harmony.”
At another time, he asked the Government of India to provide shelter to the Mohajirs of Pakistan if they faced problems there, but later said this was not possible. From time to time, he reminded the audience that we were all the same people. “Aap sab hamein apne lage.”
He railed against the American and British occupation of Iraq, but thanked the British Government for letting him live in London. (Mr. Hussain now has a British passport). Why were the people of Iraq being punished for the sins of Saddam Hussein?
Attacking the “mullahs and the jehadis”, he called upon the United States to stop supporting regimes headed by kings and military dictators. “We should respect Ram and Allah and get rid of Ravana and Shaitan,” the MQM chief said.
“Cannot return”
Later, addressing the press, Mr. Hussain claimed he could not return to Pakistan, as there had been two attempts on the life of President Pervez Musharraf and one on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. “Do you want me to return to Pakistan only to be assassinated?” he said, claiming that the Al-Qaeda and religious fanatics were roaming in Pakistan. Appreciating Gen. Musharraf for his courageous stand that plebiscite in Kashmir was not the only option, Mr. Hussain said that the General was a liberal when compared to religious extremists.

Re: altaf Hussein

This clown is the only nationalist leader who owns a foreign passport, he claims to represent the middle class and lives like a king in london.
I predict that with the help of the government he will win 20-30 setas in punjab assembly in the next elections

Re: altaf Hussein

His is the only party who either is part of the government or underground
