altaf Hussein

Re: altaf Hussein

so how does it prove that he aims to unite India and Pakistan? There are many who opposed the creation of Pakistan. Besides the author doesn’t even know the definition of “Mohajir”… see what he says:
Mohajir (as "refugees from India are known’')

One who doesn’t believe in partition should not be in Pakistan (or possess Pakistani nationality) :jhanda:

Re: altaf Hussein

The Great Britain is the harbour of all corrupt people and murderers from the world, e.g Salman Rushdi and Altaf Husain.
Interesting that when Ahmedis' religous leader Mirza Tahir (I guess) died, Altaf Husain did condolence and became the target of criticism from 'Ulama.
He is a stinky shaytaan in the form of human.
I am from Karachi, who else would know him and his group better than me and many others?

Re: altaf Hussein

In my eyes the reason why criminals like Altaf Husain or Nawab Bugti of Baluchistan grow up is the social and political injustice from the establishment and Army of Pakistan. I know that Altaf or his ideology was wrong, but the question is who gave him the opportunity to create issues and play politics?
Off course it has been the unjust system of governance in Pakistan which broke half of the country in 1971 and which gave Altaf Husain an air craft to hijack the people of Karachi on board.

Karachi is the jugular vein in the economy of Pakistan but the sense of deprivation among Karachi'ites is not new. We don't get enough from the central or provincial governments though other places e.g Islamabad and Lahore get much more.
What was bad of Altaf was that he started his movement from ethnicity which turned to violance and off course he hasn't been sincere to the people of Karachi from the very beginning, there was a time when he was the Pharoah of Karachi, a monster, blood sucker...

Re: altaf Hussein

This is an example of racism in Pakistan and I don't agree with the above comments as well.
Musharraf goes to deal with those who serve his purpose. Who else would be his partners in Sindh if he rejected MQM?

Re: altaf Hussein

There was a time, not long ago, when I also thought that Hindustan should not have been divided, as after division nothing special happened. In Pakistan the punishment of murder comes under act 302 and the same is in India. So what is the difference? Only the names are different. One is India and the other is Pakistan.

But with time my view changed and I thought, if Pakistan didn't achieve its objectives on what basis it was born, then it doesn't mean that the birth of Pakistan is wrong, it simply means that the founders and care takers of Pakistan were / have been wrong since it's birth.

Re: altaf Hussein

Sahi kaha aapney, Altaf Bhaiyya is in London. Author doesnt seem to know the meaning of the word “Mohajir” but it fits appropriately in the South Asian context as he decribed it. The way Altaf is becoming popular, he might eclipse even the likes of Qazi Hussein Ahmed and Fazlur Rahman sahib :frowning: Who knows one day he might become Prime Minister

Re: altaf Hussein

Incorrect! Mohajir means someone who migrates or "immigrants" not refugees, please buy a dictionary if not for Urdu do it atleast for your beloved Arabic brothers.

Re: altaf Hussein

Technically and logically, the term Muhajir (or mohajir) is wrong for the people of Karachi in general as those who emigrated from India to Pakistan in 1947 were in fact the Muhajir or Emigrants and those who moved to Pakistan later, shouldn't be called Muhajir. This is like people move to UK for permanent residence. They are not called Muhajirs.

Yes, you can call those Muhajir who emigrated to Pakistan from now Bangla Desh in 1971 or afterward.

But the new generations even the generation of Altaf Husain can't be called Muhajirs, as they are Pakistani born people.

The truth is that you can't confine people within a boundary, the Earth / World belongs to Allah, whoever inhabitates wherever would be the occupier, so if most of the emigrants from Hindustan came to Karachi, Karachi became their home, so it doesn't make any difference if they are called Muhajirs as they are already having the posession of Karachi.
Calling them refugees is mocking and sarcastic and shows the racism and narrow mindedness as if you look back then everyone would be a refuge as your forefathers must have moved to the land where you are currently occupying. Or not?

Re: altaf Hussein

I think GoP should kill some people, you know...just for kicks.

Re: altaf Hussein

Yeah but lot of Indians(pre-partitioned days) chose to migrate to the muslim homeland (Pakistan and hence they can be technically called Mohajir. I guess I am little weak in Urdu as my mother tongue is Punjabi. I referred to Mohajir Urdu:

Arrey bhai saab, I am not against mohajirs.. infact many of the ahle sunnat jamaat fellows are mahajjirs… The point is we have to prevent terrorist like Altaf Bhaiyya from becoming vazir-e-azam… ab gal samajh mein aaye?

Re: altaf Hussein

First of all getting into this whole muhajir punjabi argument is wrong. We are all pakistanis and thats is it.
The number of promotions in army seems out of order considering the representation of punjais and pathans in army. However others have been neglected in past so to some extent it is justified. But two wrongs dont make a right. These promotions considering how important they are both stretigcally and unfortunately politicaly they should be doen on merit. Mushi has been quite smart in juggling his commanders. He has never let anyone stay too long in any role. Even those who help him overthrow Nawaz Sharif were sent home prety quickly.
As far as Altaf is concerned i only hope his followers majority of whom is in karachi will ask him how come he now wants to be champion of poor punjabi........the very punjabi who according to him a few years ago was the enemy number one and was killed ruthlessly in karachi.
I have nothing against muhajir infact i dont wanna use this word even.....I love enyone who loves pakistan........but those who have followed Altaf quite in blind faith must surely ask themselves this question now.

Re: altaf Hussein

Agreed. It seems Pakistani's don't think about the country, but rather their domestic or sectarian position in society.

Regardless of what peoples backgrounds are, at this present moment, we are Pakistani's, and that itself should be enough to unite us.

Sadly, this is not the case because of clowns like Altaf Hussain.

Re: altaf Hussein

That can be viewed as strong reaction of past history but I don’t even believe on proportion, it should be Merit. Proportion can work at lower level, but on top brass you need brain and all the promotions should strictly be on Merit or at least 70-80% merit!

Re: altaf Hussein

This is just a thought, but prehaps the mohajirs that have been promoted were previously discriminated againsts and other groups were promoted rightly or wrongly, subsequently overlooking capable and worthy mohajirs, thus trying to even things out a little.

Im no expert but could be a possibilty?

Re: altaf Hussein

A profound and intelligent observation which sadly is very true.

Re: altaf Hussein

:k:

Re: altaf Hussein

the problem is nothing in Pakistan or anywhere for that matter, happens on merit...its all connections that come in handy...
