You have to give to MQM's all-consuming allegiance to Altaf Hussain. You want to see real life practical example ophism - watch MQM's terror ridden protests for Altaf Hussain in Karachi. I mean any political party or even a Mafia would've split into two or more different groups under such circumstances. Yet all these veteran MQM leaders are still restoring to passionate idol worshipping, openly advocating and justifying violence and systematic economic terrorism. Clearly the current crop of MQM has zero interest in party's future, and really, if they let go of this vital make or break moment, they may never be able to redeem themselves in the public eye - even if Altaf goes.

London is a safe heaven for notorious and self exiled Russian mega billionaires as well, people like Zardari don't even come close to that. You have to consider that money laundering investigation was pretty accidental. What really started off as a warning for hate speech triggered a massive investigation into financial crimes, and Altaf brought all that on himself, otherwise Britain had given him a refuge for nearly two decade despite having a complete knowledge about his violent control on Karachi. Perhaps if Pakistanis citizens complain about Zardari to Met police in thousands under hate speech and terrorism heading, and have the news picked up by the BBC and the Home Office, you may very well see Zardari going down as well. But then again, Zardari is not a British citizen.
All that shows clear discrimination in UK action, and it gives indication (or suspicion) that it is possible someone from Pakistani political circle or their British lobbies that pushed UK into this.
As for British law enforcement authorities, it is true that most of the time they work without pressure, but they are neither Angels nor necessarily unbiased. They also work with some understanding of British government, especially when it comes to dealing with political forces of foreign countries, as then, these law enforcement agencies do not act unduly without nudge from government.
Week arguments. I think in British courts, if lawyers give above arguments to defend AH, AH will get life imprisonment. You have to understand difference between Paki courts and British courts.

As someone who has done law trust me this guy should have been prosecuted long ago if the Brits used their laws properly on him.
