Now I can see why most people in Karachi trust MQM and MQM gets so many votes from cities of Sindh. It is discrimination (Tasub) and biases that MQM voters clearly see that people from all around in Pakistan and on many forums have.
Just imagine comments … Altaf is not Pakistani, he is British and facing British laws, so why arrest of Altaf means protest in Karachi? If Altaf is suspected of money laundry than he should be punished and there should be no protest in Pakistan. For some, all these comments are fare comments and nothing to do with tasub (discrimination) … but are such comments valid and people making such comments are not guilty of tasub?
Well … same people, mostly of PTI, JI, JUI, PMLN, but others too, who are making above comments … they ignore that a Pakistani who takes British nationality do not lose Pakistani Nationality, hence Altaf is as much a Pakistani as any Pakistani. Nawaz’s son is also British, so are Imran’s sons. As far as I know, Bilawal Bhutto and his sisters are British too … but for people supporting these parties, they would never make issue out of that … but would be most vocal when talking about Altaf and even Tahir-ul-Qadri.
Now, let us talk about American nationality. Unlike acquiring British Nationality where it is not required to renounce Pakistani nationality or allegiance with Pakistan, when acquiring American Nationality a person has to renounce Pakistan nationality and allegiance with Pakistan (as American oath requirement). So, Pakistani acquiring American nationality stops being Pakistani, whereas Pakistani acquiring British and Canadian nationality do not. Stull, same people (especially PTI, PMLN and others) who make so much fuss about Altaf Nationality, make protest for Aafia and call her Pakistani, when she is American … so why not they make same comment that, if she has done crime and America is punishing her (own citizen) than what is wrong with that … and that, what her punishment in USA is concerned for Pakistanis?.
Some are making comments that MQM is harming Pakistan and such protest should not be allowed, but may have themselves supported ‘Iftikhar chaudhry bhangra on road to get him reinstated’, not once but twice … once in 2007 and other in 2009. Why then these people were not worried about all those destruction PMLN, PTI and JI protests in 2009 made in Punjab that harmed Pakistan economy a lot … and obviously all those 2007 ‘monkey dance and bhangra on road’ that also harmed Pakistan economy and also resulted in getting reinstated a corrupt judge? How about destroying Pakistan when blasphemous cartoon came out in west … and some considering that as valid reason?

As for money laundry case against Altaf, I do not know if there is truth in it or not, but one thing is certain fact, and that is, Zardari, Nawaz and many other politicians have transferred millions of pounds illegally to UK, so what is the secret that those who did money laundry of millions (in Zardari and Nawaz it is billions) and their assets in UK are also known (registered in their own names) that anyone can verify, are never booked for that illegal money transfer, but few hundred thousand pounds found at home of Altaf Hussain means investigation, arrest, and cases?**
All that shows clear discrimination in UK action, and it gives indication (or suspicion) that it is possible someone from Pakistani political circle or their British lobbies that pushed UK into this.
As for British law enforcement authorities, it is true that most of the time they work without pressure, but they are neither Angels nor necessarily unbiased. They also work with some understanding of British government, especially when it comes to dealing with political forces of foreign countries, as then, these law enforcement agencies do not act unduly without nudge from government.
