KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday night said he was ready to offer sacrifices for creation of a ‘new country’ in the same manner “our forefathers did for the creation of Pakistan.”**
Speaking at the party’s general workers convention via telephone from London, he said he was not happy with the conduct of MQM leaders and office bearers and asked his activists’ approval for stepping down from party’s chairmanship. Workers, however, expressed their trust on Hussain’s leadership and urged him not to resign from his post.

Hussain vowed to eliminate ‘land mafia’ from Karachi if he was allowed to arrive and stay in the country for 15 days only, adding that he will do the same job throughout Pakistan in only six months.
