You are pre judging me and my intentions. Please point to any of my reply in the thread you mentioned here. And if I did not reply there then it is obvious that I do not know of any such thread.
Well I know how much people hate MQM. So mocking ridiculing replies in this thread, like the one above, is not surprising at all. You guys are obviously missing the point I was making. No matter how much people hate MQM, it is still the party closest to Jinnah's original vision of liberal secular country. I support this view. I support any party which espouses this view. Including PPP and ANP. And I oppose any party which is against it. Including PML (both N and Q) and PTI.
It was just a light comment. Nothing to be serious. I even didn't go through the other thread completely.
Coming to the topic, I heard in News Altaf Hussain statement where he gave ultimatum to Ulema and said he will prove them hypocrite by quoting reference from Quran and Ahadees, if they don't condemn this incident. This is good, but what about Altaf's own personality as per the teachings of Quran and Ahadees?

Don't you know of Rana Sanaullah holding rallies with Sipahe Sahaba, and Imran going to Akorra Khatak, the center of Taliban militancy? Why do you think Imran selected a small town like Kotkai for his march?

I am saying that anyone who openly and clearly goes against Taliban or religious extremism is not safe in Pakistan. And you were ridiculing him for being in Britain.

That's the point. It is easy to sit in London and dish out ultimatums. A lot of people wouldn't speak up afraid of ending up like Malala.
And besides, MQM workers have similar weaponry and training as the taliban anyways.

Well, I do not think it as clear cut as you are making it here. And I do not think everyone would agree with what MQM does. **Rather the point was that MQM's secular credentials are more "clear-cut" than any **Taliban apologists like Imran Khan or Nawaz Sharif.

Secondly, I do indeed agree with you that MQM has very clear cut secular credentials ... for me that is a fail ... I'm not a supporter of clear cut secularism. One does not have to be non-secular and Taliban apologist at the same time ... it is quite possible to be non-secular and not supporting of Taliban. Imran Khan is actually interested in bringing calm to the nation and he is correct when he says that we need to engage the people of those Qabaili regions and invite them to share the country with us ... under a common understanding.
MQM is playing the hard line - he sees the "attack on Malala" an opportunity to win support and I don't think he has any interest in her. I get frustrated on the politics of people who try to pull support stunts in times of adversities ...

Exactly. Altaf Hussain had a rally for Aafiya calling her daughter of the nation? Where is the follow-up by MQM of that issue, if they were so sincere with daughter of nation? If the matter is to just playing with words, then I would opt for Umera Ahmed rather than Altaf Hussain :)
