You’re right actually. Since the guy in question is losing it at 25 and there are other cases in the family, it’s more than likely genetic. I should have been more specific I guess… reason why I gave different examples was I wanted to know what the majority thought about bringing up the topic itself regardless of the actual reason behind the hair loss.

Well the reason is kind of important, if it’s a medical problem then it is a no brainer, you tell the guy to get treatment. If it’s just natural baldness then generally (from balding guys I know) guys just take it in their stride and learn to live with it, telling them to go and get treatment or hair transplant is like telling them they’re not good enough anymore.
