Thats a difference of perception. What Iqbal showed through his poetry was his vision. He saw what other people couldnt see. He understood Quran better than most molvis and thats what you can see from his poetry as well. Now from their onwards, people took notes that yes Hindus and Muslims cannot live together so that constituted the basis of partition. Calling him separatist is an insult. He was a true visionary leader.
And btw I just read somewhere some of the Indians called him biggest “bigot” and “fanatic”. And we all know he was the exact opposite of that. So again its the perception.
