I read a book about the life of Allama Iqbal 10 years back and according to that he was an Indian and his ancestor were Kashmiri Hindu.Not only that his grand father or great grand father was the brother of Motilal Nehru's father. I can't remember the name of the book I read it in 1996.

how can someone be a pakistani if he died years before something called pakistan emerged on the map of the world???

besides iqbal took pride in calling himself a “hindi” which very much means “indian”…

Mughal Badshah, tay tussi menu eik gal dasso- why did he call himself “Hindi” it he was such a supporter of Pakistan movement.. By calling himself “Hindi” he has become a kafir in my eyes.. :mad: I am aware that he wrote a lot in Persian too.. I went to attend a lecture by his son Mr. Javid Iqbal some time during basant in Lahore and he wasnt that impressive.. half the time he was adjusting his pants and scratching..

Because at the time when Iqbal thought of the idea of a seperate homeland for the Hindustani muslims, that is all it really was, a concept without a name.
