What about Taweez. They have quarnic ayaat written on them. Do we need to take them off too when going to use the bathroom?
I'm not sure but let me give u an example. What is purpose of Qura'n if u keep it covered in a beautiful designed reshmi cloth and never read/recite it. Keeping it covered will help u in this world or on the day of judgement or will increase ya knowledge? I think the answer is No.
So same if u wear taweez (written some Quranic ayat or words etc) sealed, will help you?
Yes! if u read, recite and remember it in ya mind it will surely help you in this world and on the day of judgement and i'm pretty sure u knw how.
Yes exactly, Allah is our protector, not a piece of metal with the term Allah written on it. Also If one would wear such a pendant because they think it would give them protection, one is performing shirk.
1). You want to show off, which violates Islamic teachings.
2). Pride has no place in Islam.
Just be thankful to Allah that you were born into a Muslim family and are a Muslim also.
TLK, I thought Taweez and stuff is shirk. Only Allah SWT can protect us from evil and cure us from illness, not an Ayat with a cloth wrapped around.

This example is wrong.
Taweez had a different purpose and concept than Koran, although it contains ayats from Koran.
^ but its even written on Quran book itself that, something like, only touch with paak hands. That means u should be ba-wazzu when u are touching it and reciting Quran. no ?

There are positive aspects of taking pride in something also, stop being a negative extremist and taking it in sense of showing -off, which us different than taking pride.
Pride has a place in islam and that a muslim is always proud to be a muslim and proud that he Worships ALLAH only and even proud to have the best human being in all humanity as his Guide(Hazrat Muhammad (saw))
Asalamulaikum brothers and sisters,
i´m still confused about wether i can wear a pendant or not when i go to the washroom even if i cover it under my shirt or putting it in my pocket ?
IMO, you should take the pendant off out of respect, but thats my opinion, i dont know the expert view on it.
What about Taweez. They have quarnic ayaat written on them. Do we need to take them off too when going to use the bathroom?
You should ask this from the one who gave you a taweez. Bathrooms contain filthy jinns and other harmful spiritual creatures and some taweez are specifically worn and contain ayats of ALLAH to keep a person safe from such creatures. So in this case, the person may be premitted to wear it, to fullfil the purpose of taweez.
So it all depends mainly on for what purpose you are wearing taweez.
taweez is not shirk as no one worships it, although may respect it as it contains ayats.
By that logic, going to a fortune teller wouldn't be shirk also. Since you aren't worshipping them. Yet it is shirk.
Believing that someone or something else than Allah SWT can ward off Evil is shirk.

Humbleness has a place in Islam, pride doesn't.
Seems that people nowadays don't even know what pride is.
Because Christians wear a cross and we have to have something similar.
They also make images of their God and many other things that I rather not mention here. And since some Muslims want to have something similar to what they have , I wonder If they would want to go ahead with that too.

and since when did fortune tellers use ayats of Koran to tell fortunes?

I have explained how pride can be referred to, if you still want to stick to the other meaning, by all means go ahead. I am and will always be proud to be a muslim.
