People might say, if one can afford, why not they should go and enjoy these deals? I would ask why then call Ramadan a month of patience, sacrifice and realizing pain of those who can’t afford all this.
Amount spent for one person’s meal may be sufficient enough to bring ration of a week of a poor family.
Any Views, why holy month became so much commercialized?
it’s just like thanksgiving or easter in the west…they will capitalize on any holiday, Muslims are just following suit…but it’s up to the consumer to realize that hey why not spend that amount of money to throw an Iftar for the not so well to do
Is the message of thanksgiving or Easter same like Ramadan?
You will find many families occupying these places at Sheri and Iftar. I’m not being judgmental, but I found most of the time people visiting such places keep on eating, leaving prayers aside.
no it’s not but I’m saying its not the fault of the companies they will capitalize on anything it’s our issue
as for eating while neglecting your prayers…I think sehri should be stopped at asana of fajr unless you are finishing something up as for Iftar you should fill yourself a little bit offer your prayers and then eat some more if you wish…isn’t that our problem too? No one is stopping anyone from doing so.
but even if ppl are neglecting their prayers and eating its between them and Allah, what if Allah has no problem with it who are we to judge…it’s not like anyone obeys Allah a hundred percent so how can anyone judge another person when no one is free of sin
I pointed prayers part because practically doing such things (keep on filling your plate in the fear that when you come back from namaz, you won’t find something in menu.. say a particular item in salad). This gives impression that we don’t follow the message of simplicity which is the concept behind Ramadan. In recent times, Ramadan has turned to be a food festival and many people openly accept this as well.
Just turned on radio today while driving from office to home. The RJ was talking about pakoRas, samosas, etc. didn’t utter a single word about ibadaat. I didn’t watch TV, but I’m sure people who did might come across cooking shows from all channels (including non-cooking channels). What does this say? Is Ramadan all about all you can eat during Ramadan?
Wife:" iss dafa ramzaan may kisi achi jagha iftari hee karwa dou"
Me:ghar saay achi jagha aur kia hoti hai chal uth pakoray bana…
hoor ki i made pakoray:bummer:
Jis tarhan 500,000 ki qurbai wah wah karwa daiti hai muhalay main uss hee tarhan mahangi iftari bhee zamany main munh dikhny kay liay zarrori hai.
oh yes.. show off ke bagher to khana hazm nahin hota logon ka.
BTW the phrase ‘All you can eat’ is very meaningful. It conveys like rozadar was chained and restricted from eating and Iftar is chhutti ki ghanti to eat all he / she can.
lols. I have been to this all you can eat for once and that was Babloo’s birthday during Ramadan. Babloo’s lunch menu was famous in all over office ’ ek double biryani, ek special zarda with khoya and gulab jaman… and order dete huwe Babloo badi lajaahat se kehta tha.. suniye ek diet coke bhi add kar len’.
So Babloo keep on demanding ’ where is Fajeeta, where is Supreme. Don’t you give chicken tikka in deal?'. O Bhaiyo ‘Pitcher khali hogaya’. After all this episode Babloo said to me at the door of Pizza Hut ‘Ghareebo! Paise zaya karwa diye… khaya piya to tum logon se jata nahin.’ I had 5 pieces of Pizza, which wa a record for me.
