Probably you are replying to my post ... if you re-read it, i did not say that Supreme Court was influenced by protests; i said protests built-up pressure for Musharaf that kept him from influencing the SC. And there are many incidents in the history that military dictators DID influence the court.

The verdict says it was unconstitional step by the President!!!! Now imagine if CJ had resigned in due to the pressure of intellegence chiefs.. its a biggg slap on Musharaf...

I may be wrong but it was during one of the democratically elected govt in Pakistan that the Supreme Court was raided, and during ZA Bhutto's time intimidation and abduction of Family members was the Modus Operendus.. General Sahib is far better than those thugs.

I am for taking off all armed forces uniforms not just Musharraf's alone.
Uniforms do not win Wars..............

Well, dictators dont have to compete with a vocal and independant judiciary... So Musharaf cant be called a dictatro since power is no longer only in his hands and he isnt able to call all the shots...

What do you expect him to do? Send division of army to invade the SC? Mushrraf is a
dictator by definition and he has no way out. He shot himself in the foot by “suspending” the CJ when he had no such powers.

Also, this is the deadliest blow to junta, and hopefully he is the last dictator in our country. I hope the nation make an example out of him and that no thuggish general ever again takes over the country w/o fear or consqunces.

BTW, I also have sad news for Mushrraf supporters…he is on his way out one way or the other. Dead or alive its only matter of time.

It is paranoia to believe that Musharraf would have influenced the court if the protest was not there. He said it from start that he will respect the verdict, which he did. Moreover, the court was in favor of CJ from start, it was their lawyers and their threating comments regarding the verdict that were causing trouble. Court acted in the best manner, fair and balanced and despite so many attempts by opposition did not make a biased decision. On Aaj TV one of the corespondent said that even if the verdict had gone Musharraf's way she would have respected because court acted in the best manner.

Musharraf administration has accpeted the decision to reinstate the peon CJ with grace, dignity and maturity. On the other hand peon's peon and typist buddies had threated the supreme court and the peon justice lest the decision was favorable to them. Who can forget the violent protests that peons and typists engaged in not to mention provocation of groups across the country.

This is another victory for Musharraf. This is also a defeat for the opposition who have been unrelenting in their efforts to undermine the state of Pakistan thru their treasonous activities.

You may accuse Abdulaziz of terrorrism but i don't think he was running, or he would not have left his wife, 2 daughters, 1 son, 1 brother and his mother inside. I beleive that he was trying to meet a government figure for negotiations.
