Ok guppans…after all these threads about skin color, fair babies and bleaching products, I’m wondering where I fall on the skin tone scale (being serious here!). I’m not much into heavy makeup, and rarely use foundation (really only when I’m doing evening makeup for a party or night out), but recently while restocking some lip colors at the MAC counter at Nordstroms I decided to try some new product out. I ended up with Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in C6 (I liked it because it went on so smooth and didn’t feel cakey or thick or all). In the past, I’ve used Bobbie Brown Oil Free Finish Compact Foundation #5 Honey.
So what color range does that make me? Am I medium skin toned? Wheatish? Olive? Saanwali?
I am in NO WAY obsessed with skin tone, just curious where I fall when I see all these terms used on the Fashion/Beauty threads.
Any clarifications you can provide would be much appreciated!
Re: All this talk about skin color/fairness has got me wondering…
Well, you have to go to Dior ladies for help…they can help find you the right colour that matches your skin tone. Once that’s done, you can find out your skin colour using this guide.
For example, I use Sand so I must be medium light with yellow undertone.

i was just curious as to what I would be classified as...I am in no way gori chitti (gosh darn it!), however I'm not super dark either....The MAC consultant said I had "olive" undertones...whatever that means! Anyhoo, I always see and read about all these MAC NC color numbers, so I wasn't sure how the C6 studio fix powder translates.....

Anyone with medium brown to medium light brown or fair skinned with a golden or yellow undertone can be considered "Olive".

^No problem! :)
Quick question...I do tan very easily, during the summers my skin never gets red sunburned, only deeper golden tan, these colors I mentioned I bought during the height of Texas summer! Should I go and get rematched for winter now? I've read on some beauty blogs and in various advice colums that you should have different foundations for summer/winter...any truth to that?

Of course, I range from NC20 but go NC25 in the summer, even w/ SPF and all that. I don't really change my foundation though, I use C2 in MAC and use that through out. It's slightly dark for my NC20 skin so it goes well for year-round.
