All things Malala Yousafzai

Re: Malala says dialogue best way to fight war

Why compare her with Benazir who had her life taken.

Leave this poor girl alone.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

Malala Yousafzai has my best wishes. She is young but a courageous icon. And she is a slap on the face of the extremists who think Pakistanis would cower and let those religious fanatics rule over them. I hope one day we will have a peaceful, progressive Pakistan where the country's Malalas will be able to live in the country without tyranny. And where all Pakistani children, including girls, will be able to get an education and have opportunities to become doctors or accountants or engineers and pursue their dreams without extremists disrupting their lives.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

Let see what would be Pakistan after 15/20 years when she able to participate in ground politics of Pakistan.

Pakistani Taliban vow to attack Malala Yousafzai again - The Times of India

SWAT: The Pakistani Taliban on Monday said schoolgirl campaigner Malala Yousafzai had “no courage” and vowed to attack her again if they got the chance.

Gunmen sent by the Taliban tried to kill Malala on her school bus on October 9 last year.

She amazingly survived being shot in the head and has become a global ambassador for the right of all children — girls as well as boys — to go to school.

Having spread a message of “education for all” across the globe, the 16-year-old is now among the favourites for the Nobel Peace Prize, which will be awarded on Friday.

But Shahidullah Shahid, spokesman for the main Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) umbrella group, slammed Malala and said they would try again to kill her.

“She is not a brave girl and has no courage. We will target her again and attack whenever we have a chance,” Shahid told AFP.

In an interview with the BBC, Malala dismissed the threats against her life and repeated her desire to return to Pakistan from Britain, where she was flown for treatment after the attack and where she now goes to school.

She first rose to prominence during the Taliban’s 2007-09 rule in Pakistan’s northwestern Swat valley with a blog post for the BBC Urdu service chronicling the rigours of daily life under the Islamists.

“She even used a fake name of Gul Makai to write a diary. We attacked Malala because she was used to speak against Taliban and Islam and not because she was going to school,” Shahid said.

While she has been feted by celebrities and world leaders across the West, in deeply conservative Swat, Malala’s achievements are eyed with suspicion by some.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

What part of it is a joke? And would you rather have a 16 year illiterate kid blowing himself up in middle of a market place or would have her advocating for girls education everywhere?

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

lol is his trade mark and sometime he really don't know himself where he using it!

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

Malala ka Malaal kab khatam hoga ,em jus fed up :smack:

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

The time Malala is spending on receiving things and giving speeches I wonder when she studies herself forget about advocating for girls education

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

Do you think people are going to be allowed to take part in politics in15/20 years in That country/Taliban land?

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

Great interview with Jon stewart yesterday. Respect for her.

However, I just feel that her father and her are overplaying the education bit for the west because west is buying that theory. Taliban have said many a times that they want to kill her for her supposed anti islamic (or anti taliban islamic) views and not for her education aspirations

Having said that, Malala is one person that divides opinion like IK does. She has extremist supporters as well as extremist haters.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

Her haters are more. Even if she gets the Nobel for a vast majority she'd be just another Abdus Salam.

If only Pakistanis would have hated taleban more than her Pakistan would have been a much better place to live.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

It is SHAME that in Pakistan majority believes that the reason Abdus Salam was given nobel proze was not because of his achievements but it was because of the fact that he was a main stream muslim and that was west's way of rewarding him.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

Malala is definitely a good kid that our country should be proud of but I don't think she should be awarded a Nobel prize. Nobel prize is highly prestigious award given for high achievements or life-long efforts. Although she is a brave and bright kid but she still has to go a long way before she should be deemed worthy of this reward.

Re: All things Malala Yousafzai

I have merged all Malala threads because seems like she is going to win Noble tomorrow and we already have three for threads here. Please avoid opening more

Re: Queen Elizabeth II invites Malala Yousafzai to palace

Her haters are more because Pakistan just hate conspiracies. She is a just a kid and whatever happened to her was terrible. Now she is being commercialised/exploited by west. But that's NOT her fault in anyway. So why should we hate her. We should welcome a positive news coming out of Pakistan with open heart and open arms.

Re: All things Malala Yousafzai

But then again for most part, world and academia is intellectual whores(david suzuki said it,,, don't ban me).
They do what people with money want them to do.

To malala I wish happy healthy and prosper life. And perhaps chairmanship of PPP, She fits the bill.
