That’s human nature. Tiny little kids do it. It has gone on from time immemmorial so if we need to stop this, we should annihilate some children.

You construe my words as too harsh…They are not and let me explain why…

By sane I mean in Urdu being in one’s “Hosh-o-Hawaas”, which in some countries is 16 and in some 18 years…But in Islam, it’s usually after puberty…

So, if after puberty, one starts going around insulting (in more ways than one) other’s object’s of adoration, should we ignore it?..And how many kinds of insults are there? Would rape be classified as an insult?

Muslims never do it…Why don’t you scour the internet and look into any Muslim site and see if see a insult directed at any other religion…<<<

Au contraire. I’ve seen Muslims insult Americans, Hinduism (a prime subject for derision), Jews all the time on this board.

My beliefs were insulted in open daylights and nothing happens, and if I state an opinion, respectfully, it is an insult…

Who cares about Mullahs? That word is barely in my lexicon, I barely ever use it and this was most certainly not directed to “Mullahs” or to Muslims, but to all religious people, as is the title of the thread.

Who would classify as ‘religious’? The Imam of you local Masjid? The Imam of Masjid-ul-Haraam? The As’Haaba? Were they religious?

The point in sum being countering every attack on Islam is an exercise in futility and at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. What matters more is that Muslims are so pent up and so sensitive that they are not getting anywhere, that they are not giving attention to areas that need it. Our countries are some of the poorest in the world, with atrocious amounts of poverty and corruption. I think that’s more important than someone flushing the Quran down the toilet. And let me say this too, if Person X doesn’t react to that and rather than nearly giving himself a heart attack with outrage goes and gives a little charity in its stead, that person is probably doing more in service for Islam.

By the way, if you haven’t read the book where the passage was from, I think it comes after an interfaith “discussion” (more like an attack from each side) between a priest, a pundit, and a moulvi. And this in India. A country with so much crushing poverty. That’s why it’s so pathetic, people dying from starvation all around them and these “good” people going at it with guns drawn.

It matters not if we have no food to eat, but the sanctity of Islam must endure, not just with our hearts but actions as well…Today, we have Islam, in all corners of the world because of people who were ‘religious’ and placed their belief above all else…The expansion, that the media would have you believe was done by the sword, was by no other than actions and deeds of the people who were ‘religious’…

You or I can’t imagine to be like them…Even in heart…

It is important that from time to time, examples like Van Gogh are set, that whatever your jaundiced and artistic BS may perceive something to be, do not mess with it’s sanctity…
