I am wanting to create volume in my hair (on top) on my wedding day but when i put on my Tikka and Jhoomer on it goes flat any tips advice? - This style will have all hair back
Now i don’t think i suit my hair all back (gonna have a trial on w/end so will see) so just wanted to ask if i have a side parting and create volume on top and then a big bun is it ok to put my Tikka on top i have only ever seen pics of brides with Side parting with their tikka under the parting but i don’t want to do this esp as wearing a jhoomer aswell
Why do you think the hair pulled back wont look good on you??my recommendation is that you get it all pulled back and leave a few strands out for a softer look. Tika and jhoomer would look good on the pulled back hair.
however, if you’re looking to get the side parted hair, jhoomer sure wouldnt look good with that.you could try using flowers..thats what i did for my walima.and it looked really nice.
Add height to the front.. and keep it all pulled-back (it doesnt have to be really tight and gelled-back) slightly backcombed and then pulled back looks nice with a jhoomar and teeka..
With a side-parting the teeka looks out-of-place.. I don't like the "peeping-thru" teeka.. a teeka and jhoomar can also be worn with a middle parting bith "body" on both sides of the teeka..
U're makeup artist shud pin the jhoomar in the right place and way..
How do i keep the volume even after adding the tikka and jhoomer?
my bst friend got these hair poofs in pakistan. however i made my own by just taking a lot of my hair from a brush and rolled it up into a ball and i just kept adding to it till it was thick like hers. it basically is like a cushion of your own hair so the color matches better than the store bought one the salon in pakistan used on her. anyhow i just hot glued a barrett to secure it into my hair and the poof was made. (my hair never stays teased it's too heavy) so the cushion i made really helped out.
they aslo have these hair bump its at ulta.com try those out.
Hi Guys,
okay so both my Waleema and Nikkah are on the same date. Nikkah is at around 1pm and Reception/Waleema would be at night (starting around 7). Inbetween Nikkah and Reception, I have to change my clothes into my reception wear AND take pictures. THerefore, there really isn't anytime to see a hair dresser for touch ups.
The dupatta will be over my head for the Nikkah of course, but for the Reception, I won't have it over my head. My hair is really thin too. Will the dupatta weigh down my hair a lot during the Nikkah? :S
I am wearing a sari for the nikkah and the palu won't be crazy heavy.. i chose a very light sari, but still am afraid of the weight.
What kind of hair styles do you guys suggest I do so to prevent my hair from looking horrible when I take my dupatta off?

Hi I have just been on ulta.com and cannot find sorry could you please direct me
I think you should have ur hair professionally blow dried...(set an appointment with a salon for like 10-11 am) the ppl at the salon give ur hair great volume so it will be great for thin hair and then when u get ready for the reception u can have it up or still leave it down if u like the look but if y have it up at the reception and down for the Nikkah it'll give two different look on the same day. I say down for the nikkah and up for reception.
I had that "side parting at my Nikkah, and taht looked fabulous!... Wore jhoomar too... The beautician side-parted the hair... and didnt make that side-parted hair flattened-out.. added a little bump , put teeka under the hair, and jhoomar at side... in case you dont have jhoomar, put flowers at side...
*However I dont recommend you for side-parted hairstyle at barat, the style is for walima/nikkah/engagements... *
*And why are you getting conscious about your skinny face, the beautician will balance it out... Like my forehead is not evened-out.. (even though I waxed it).. yet I would have my hair gelled-back at the wedding.. covered the un-even part of my forehead with bigggggggg jhoomar I have for the day... *
Have your hair style done professionally. Plus DONOT wear the sari pallu over your head, if you need to put anything over your head, arrange another pieces (of 1-2 meter long) either of same sari fabric and motif or anything in contrast... Hope you get wha I meant!
Okay my problem is... I haved un-even forehead for the right corner of the forehead...
I had covered it on my Nikkah in the way that I side-parted the hair... put teeka under the hair and jhoomar and side...
Is it look Ok if I have my hair gelled-back at barat and put jhoomar on the un-even side???
And I couldnt have any other hair style at walima other than "maang' in middle... because my inlaws (and I) order teeka with a delicate matha patti.. does it look ok with un-even forehead?
Any pictures with matha patti and such forehead????
Do a little backcombing at the back, but leave some hair smooth cover the part. Before pinning the smooth hair in place, pin the teeka, then pin the smooth hair over it.

Why not try it out and see for yourself if you like how it looks and also get second opinion from your mom/sister/best friend. Dont worry, not every bride has a picture perfect hairline. Your other option would be to thread your hairline to even it out by removing the small hairs. Good luck!!
