** Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar to open new stores in India and Pakistan**

Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar, a chain of gourmet cocoa emporiums, has announced that it is set to launch 10 new stores in India and Pakistan through a partnership with Dubai-based HFK General Trading.

Hassan Khan, CEO of HFK Holding, said: “India and Pakistan are virgin soil for unique, high-end food concepts. Alison Nelson’s Chocolate bar is an amazing brand and a unique concept that offers us not only a chocolate cafe, but also a fresh, vibrant blend of fashion and art, which is exactly what our consumer is looking for. I am sure it is going to be an unprecedented success.”

Known for its cocoa and unusual flavor combinations such as ‘salty pretzel’ and ‘malted milk’, Chocolate Bar employs an artful approach, using graffiti-influenced chocolate-bar wrappers designed by iconic New York-based artists.

God Bless Great President Musharraf for bringing unprecedented Chocolates in Pakistan

Spock bhaijan. Aap kai moo mai ghee shakar. Or should I say, ‘Cocoa Shakar’. :k:

Re: Alison Nelson's Chocolate Bar to open new stores in India and Pakistan.

Aalsi, what do you think about the latest chocolate that Musharraf imported, aka Asif Ali Zardari? What happened to the Swiss Chocolates?

Spock bhaijan. I love chocolate. No matter which country they are from. Yum, Yum. :biggthumb

Re: Alison Nelson's Chocolate Bar to open new stores in India and Pakistan.

Do they have a Starbucks in Pakistan , if not , why not ? What do you think are the prospects of Starbucks in Pakistan ?

Re: Alison Nelson's Chocolate Bar to open new stores in India and Pakistan.

^ pathan ke chaye ke khokhay ke saamnay Stars$ucks? naay, I'd rather have tea than that expensive tasteless coffee (being a desi).

Mirch bhaijan. That is a very good question. I will find out for you. Starbucks coffee, Yum Yum. :yummy: :yummy:

I agree with drinking tea part of your comment . But the comment about Starbucks being tasteless and expensive many will not agree with you. It is the most successful coffee franchise in the world. Plus in Pakistan anything expensive is a status symbol. The more expensive the more must have it becomes. No ?

I agree that many will not agree for one reason or the other esp the ones who are hooked to coffee (the ones who prefer coffee over tea), also agree over the fashion thingie, it will be the next "in" thing. I thought Starbucks doesn't "Franchise", do they?

Aalsi,

Do you know how many love chocolate in Pakistan? Perhaps 1 or even less than 1%. Only burger families or people with halwa money can afford such expensive drinks/edibles. Pakistan really does not need these stupid food chain stores, where only choors or elite class can afford.

Instead of wasting money on these projects, needs cleanliness, parks, play grounds, water, health care, electricity, law and order etc in Karachi. These chain stores only look good in London or Dubai.

By the way what this has to with Paki politics? Is your unprecedented, great Mush or Mustafa Kamal involved in this?

You are mixing what goverment needs to do like building parks , play grounds etc with what private sector needs to do open new businesses, create jobs etc.
Once people see nice things around them they will get tempted to enjoy them and work hard , be innovative, use their creativity and imagination to come up the ways to achieve their dreams.

Who would've thought places like KFC/Pizza Hut (expensive food for Pakistani consumers) will be a hit and there'd be so many of them in Karachi alone :)

Has Pizza Huts, McDonalds or whatever has changed anything? It is people and environment which makes the difference. Look at old days Karachi and Karachi now. Karchi was much superior and happy place to live as compared to day. For new generation who born in the 80s and 90s did not know Karachi of fifties, sixties and seventies. Karachi was a dream place to live at that time minus these stupid chain stores than it is now with these stupid chainstores.

When were you born pa ji ?
Yes sir I do not know Karachi of 50's, 60's , 70's , I know Karachi of some part of 80's and 90's.
If You know Karachi of fifties then I guess you should be at least 80 years old , you should be doing Allah , Allah instead of going to those stupid chain stores.
I am sorry if my words hurt you. I had to say it.:D

Starbucks is made fun of every day on late night tv comedy, along with Taco Bell. Its not doing too good as a franchise either…

Here is something Conan said the other day, on his show:
“Starbucks has announced that they’re introducing a coffee that costs only $1 dollar. Apparently the catch is you have to purchase it at Dunkin’ Donuts.”

Struggling Starbucks? woes could get worse - Food Inc. - MSNBC.com

Whether Karachi was fun in 50s/60s/70s, what does it have to do with new (apparently in-demand) food chains? People have gone beyond 'bun-kabab' and 'seekh kabab', now "broast/KFC" is "in". Old type food stores weren't doing any good for the society/city too, they were only making money for themselves, so why resistance against new 'food chains'?

May be you can start separate thread of pros/cons of new food chains, how evil they are and how good/beneficial were old-style-food-restaurants etc.

Sherdil123 bhaijan. Rejoice, rejoice. God bless the business people that want to invest money in Pakistan. This is great news for all Chocolate lovers. :yummy:

Re: Alison Nelson's Chocolate Bar to open new stores in India and Pakistan.

Indeed, Musharrafs chocolate will solve all our problems, rejoice rejoice rejoice!

Spock bhaijan. Give the new govt time. Great Zardari and PPP with their coalition have only been in power for five months. You cannot expect the new govt to provide the same level of Unprecedented Economic Growth as the previous govt so quickly.

In the meantime, enjoy the chocolates and new business opportunities in Pakistan. :jhanda: :yummy:
