Alim Online misleading?

Someone stated so in the other thread comparing GEO and ARY. Got me thinking. How can you call a show that invites a mullah from each Islamic sector to share their opinions a misleading show? Because you dont agree with them?

Re: Alim Online misleading?

sorry PCG bad timing :hehe:

Re: Alim Online misleading?

Aalim Online should be called Buffoon Online on the account that its host wears one tacky and brightly colored outfit another. The other day he was wearing an orange, thats right bright orange colored blazer a la Southern Baptist minister.

Re: Alim Online misleading?

The host overacts... and is very unislamic for an islamic shows host...

the idea of having a sunni scholar and a shia on the same show isn't a bad idea... as long as they are qualified...

Re: Alim Online misleading?

and the misleading thing.. hmm u will obviously follow the aalim of ur sect ... unless offcoarse u r a rebel... then u already have been mislead

Re: Alim Online misleading?

Also notice the some of the halway manday walay guddi nasheen judi pushi pir mazar worship sunni aalim he has on show who openly extol shirk.....I would not watch this show to get any sort of deeni maloomat.....

Re: Alim Online misleading?

yes since u mentioned that.. it is a good point.. along with such sunni alims.. he brigns on shia alims who follow fiqh e jaffariya… and other shia “aalims” who i would not really consider aalims in the first place…

thats why i said.. they should bring on qaualified.. or shall i say truly recognized aalims… instead of aalims jsut by name…

Re: Alim Online misleading?

If you hate it so much! All you need to do is CHANGE THE DAMN CHANNEL!

Re: Alim Online misleading?

calm down boss...

is he ur relative or sumthing?

this is called discussion

Re: Alim Online misleading?

^ seems like flaming posts.

Re: Alim Online misleading?

i dont know wat parts u consider flaming posts…

Re: Alim Online misleading?

^ nothing, continue ...

Re: Alim Online misleading?

so how exactly is it misleading?

both shia and sunni alims explains the questions according to their beliefs..i have seen quite a few episodes and i agree with all of the shia molvies..they know what they are talking about

Re: Alim Online misleading?

The aalims who are on this show are not considered mainstream voices of their respective fiqh/sects. They do not speak for the majority of their co-religionists.....

Some of the shady/sinister sunni characters he brings on, if I were sunni, I would be damn embarassed by any association with them....

The show is nothing but Pakistani version of 700 club, the only difference is Pat Robertson his antics and claims of regular talks with God, does not not dress as flamboyantly.....

Re: Alim Online misleading?

wow u r already fighting here.. agree or disagree.. its ur personal opinion... don't fight here.. we are already suffering badly .. and thats what other nations are trying to do with us.. diving us in two categories Shia and Sunni.. rather than calling us "muslim" .. well it is avery sensitive issue so better becare full .. everyone thinks according to there belief... if u r not agree with them.. simply follow Quran and the "hadith"and pray that allah give u right direction so u can decide what is right or wrong for u .. and if u can't tolerate one n other's opinion rather throwing fire just keep ur mouth close.. because onl;y allah and allah alone knows the best..

Re: Alim Online misleading?

CheGuvera and triplekhan .. better becareful.. u r not discussing an enetrtaiment program .. that u can give anykind of comment.. but a religious issue ... so u better watch out... :-|

Re: Alim Online misleading?

^ wafa..they are just pissed cuz they were not invited as aalims :)

Re: Alim Online misleading?

I think any program that allows a discussion between diff schools of thoughts in a civilized manner is to be appreciated. we may find out that we are not really that diff or at minimum understand why people have certain beliefs and whether or not one thinks the other is right or wrong, with knowledge may come understanding. Something we desparately need.

I have also watched the program alif, and am glad the programs like this are on TV.

Re: Alim Online misleading?

It’s difficult to absorb for us that Aalims from different schools of thoughts (or faith) can sit and talk together in a civilized manner. Aaalim online was the first program to do so. Before aalim online, religious programs were used to be so boring that no one used to watch that. If now you are watching the program (and even though you don’t like the clothing of the host) you should be appreciating the concept and service this program is doing.

As Fraudia has suggested, try to watch an episode or two of ALIF. You will understand the concept better.

Re: Alim Online misleading?

although i think that this 2 party thing is a little narrow focused, a good start but we should have ppl from other schools of thought there too, not just shia and sunni, sub groups, other faiths, other schools of thought.

This is a great start though i think as we move forard they should expand the scope.
