Most of the actors drink, but to bring this matter into press means that the other actors will be careful next time.
By the way last year ali haider was in london with one of my friend in his flat and they go to clubs and drunk like hell and they were realy pissed off.
this is the way to enjoy the life in Pakistan. Every1 knows all the stars in pakistan have affairs and take drugs, only stupid one get caught by police
This is masala. Nothing more. Nothing less. In western countries its called tabloid press and there are weekly magazines dedicated to printing such stuff about celebrities: National Enquirer, Globe etc are all similar publications.
When a person becomes a celebrity, like it or not, they give up some parts of their private life, because people want to know (everything) about them. This thread going to 31 replies is empirical proof of that. These journalists/photographers are just fulfilling a public demand. On the other hand, if any everyday Saaja Gamma had been caught drinking, no one will lift an eye-brow and no print space will be wasted reporting that, except may be a three liner in the local news section on page 5.
Ali Haider had been a top draw singer for some time. Drinking is prohibited by law in Pakistan. Whether some people drink or not is neither here nor there. In addition, creating a disturbance (noise etc) while drinking is frowned at, even in very liberal western countries. So, any one caught by police for such acts is hardly surprising. And when police catches someone breaking the law, and that person happens to be a "celebrity"; then they are fair game for tabloid press. So lets lay off the high horse "let him do what he wants". Its inane. Its the price he has to pay.
Like, a few years ago, Hugh Grant was caught with a prostitute and his mug shot was splashed all across the world. Now, many people in LA may have sex with prostitutes, but it was Hugh Grant who got all the publicity, because... well, because he is Hugh Grant. :)
Even though I never liked Saddam Hussain, I was saddened when I saw an American medic inspecting his mouth as if he was a cow.
Now we Pakistanis have proved ourselves that we are no better than Americans. When it comes to public humiliation, we could downgrade ourselves just like those Americans.
Who gave police the right to raid a house merely on suspicion? It is the breach of privacy.
And what case can they put up against Ali Haider? That he was drunk? But don't we know that almost all of showbiz people drink?
Is this how we redeem our national personalities?
Shame on Pakistani people, and shame on people who are ridiculing and laughing in somebody's public ostracism.
