We have to remember, this is a team which had combined experience of 690 matches while Sri Lanka had a combined experience of 1800 matches, thats a huge difference, us Pakistani audience need to understand that we are playing with a young team in unfamiliar conditions. Its a rebuilding process and it will take couple months of time for this team to be at the level of other international teams.

Yes I agree with this. These are difficult pitches to bat on and this is a pretty inexperienced team. All bowlers can have bad days, but with a lad like Sami, you have to look at the overall picutre and he's developed into a fine bower in the last year. The problem area is still the batting but I wouldn't pass too many judgements on these pitches where even reaching 200 seems like a major achievement.
As a captain, I think Rashid made a mistake in not coming in ahead of Razzaq against the spin bowling as he is a much better player of spin. These are the sort of mistakes which annoy me rather than a few youngsters hitting a bad shot.
When a game is about to win and you make pathetic shot in hard conditions which was to 80% the wrong decision(even for US VIEWERS)…dont you think then I have the right to blame?
But I will not say that we played that bad and I know this team is going to be a top team in near future!
That's worked out quite well, we should have a good chance of beating them and we won't have to play against Sri Lankan spinners in the final. Shame Shane Bond's not playing, that would have been a good test for our batters. Any alternatives to Faisal Iqbal?

now sri lanka has 11 points n NZ has 12(theyre thru)
if pak win tomorrows match....they get 5 points....that takes them to 12! n theyre thru!!
so its a do-or-die for pakistan!
even if we beat sri lanka they still might go through, sri lanka have a better net run rate than us and they could even get a bonus point and still lose the game , that will be enough for them.........
strictly speaking don't get me wrong people but i am in 1 way happy that we are losing cos' i was never in favour of ringing around such sudden changes and taking out our experienced campaigners sothe only way they'll come back into this side is if our young guns fail to produce the required results.

What are you talking about. Pakistan only play NZ tomorrow and if they win they will go to the finals otherwise it will be SL. Simple. No ifs or buts.
Run rate in cosidered only when two teams have equal points. If Pak wins, they get 5 pts, so 12 pts altogather. SL has 11 pts, and NZ is in the final.

well as the new 'Boundaries' set for captain/coach etc, playing eleven is captains choice though he can consult others for sure, just in case u dont know... so dont blame Miandad alone for that purpose.

YOYO hasn't been playing good I wouldn't bring him on 3rd.......
I would open with Faisal Ather & Mohd Hafeez, bring Younis Khan on #3, keep YoYo on #4 and bring Faisal Iqbal or TufeeQ Umer or Yasir Hameed on #5, (assuming that Javid Maindad will keep Faisal Iqbal & Tufeeq Umer in the team.)
