Re: Alcohol
WHen I went to Pakistan, it was very different. There were so many countless positive experiences there that I'd like to live there. But one thing - the alcohol at the parties. The men are forbidden alcohol and when they go to a party and its there, well they just drink till they either pass out or puke their guts out.
If you;re asking whether people can drink in moderation, the answer is yes, my mom and dad did this often. THey;d have a cocktail after a long day or a glass of wine with dinner. There was never ever anything "base" or shameful about it.
I do realize that Islaam condemns alcohol completely; I do not proffess to be a Muslim, at least not yet. And I see the bad side of it as well as the social and not-harmful side.
I like how you put it.:)
Re: Alcohol
yeah, it reminds me of when police find a whole shipment of pot, and then they destroy ( i.e. burn) it ina field while the stand around it in a circle ![]()

no signal, just an observation ![]()
Re: Alcohol
No I have never had that drink you mentioned or any alcohol for that matter,
.
I don’t drink at all. I never drank, I don’t drink and :insha: I never will. Nothing to be ashamed of (Even though I live in the west, and went to university, where they openly encouraged its consumption). I’m quite proud of myself and I know my limits. That means I’ve never had any drunken moments, as I have never consumed alcohol,
. May Allah keep it that way forever…ameen.
Re: Alcohol
you should REEEEELY worry about yourself.
Re: Alcohol
of course you have had alcohol, everyone has. you may not know u had alcohol and u may not know that there were trace amounts fo alcohol in something, but u had alcohol ![]()
Re: Alcohol
ALLAH jhoot na bulwaye i drink every day synthetic alcohol in coke u know:D
Re: Alcohol
I drink but have kept a limit on myself. I like beers but prefer single malts and bourbons. I don't think I am doing anything wrong. The problem is not with the alcohol; the problem is when people forget when to stop.
I have few simple rules which I follow;
Do not drink and drive period.
Never drink alone, thats when you get stuck with it.
Always drink with a good company so you might learn something in the discussions.
Never ever drink just because it's available. Or rather I know when to stop.
Don't drink if you are on medication. You never know how it might react with the medication.
And unless it's an occasion I never drink in routine.
I believe it's a decent high without hurting anybody in the process.
Re: Alcohol
Another simple rule you might wanna add: No Muslim drinks and no drinker is a Muslim…
Ask me and I’ll explain why…
Re: Alcohol
Ask me and I'll explain why...
Yeah sure you can add it to your rules. As for asking for explaination; not really required. I am happy the way I am.
On the other hand should I add more rules not to your list but my list.
Anybody who ever lied is not a muslim.
Anybody who ever ogled a woman is not a muslim.
Anybody who ever commited adultery is not a muslim.
Anybody who ever took or gave bribe is not a muslim.
See Lajoo making these lists and fatwas is so easy.
Re: Alcohol
Yes, these should be avoided at all costs…However, drinking and adultery fall under the specific category of those things specifically forbidden as the highest category of sin…Why?
Because a Muslim is someone who submits…The word Mussulman means someone who submits to Allah :swt:…And since a Mussulman is specifically told not to touch drinking and gambling, what does that make a Mussulman who drinks and gambles? It makes him a rebel to the command of God, and what do we call a rebel against God? A Kafir…
This is not my interpretation BTW, it’s basic Islam…\
So ask for forgiveness so that maybe you might be forgiven…
Re: Alcohol
I think only when someone does shirk do they stop being muslims, otherwise they arestill muslims but lower and lower on the taqwa scale
Re: Alcohol
Shirk is also rebellion to to God…But forgivable…Drinking willingly is rebellion to God, but forgivable…
But drinking despite knowing its strict prohibition, is simply rebelling against the commands of Allah :swt:…Same as shirk…But both forgivable if asked with a genuine heart never to do it again…
Re: Alcohol
OK I will think about it but for the time being I still think I am all right.
Re: Alcohol
