What do you think about them ? Should we or should we not use them ? Did you ever tasted one ? How did you like it ?
What about alcohol free apple cider ? I have tasted it and liked the taste.
Re: Alcohol free beer and champagne.
my dad always used to have alcohol free champagne back in saudi arabia and doctor recomended me alcohol free beer few years back for some stomach related issues, and i always drink hot apple cider (non alcoholic) in winter.
Well in Quran it says intoxicants are haram, and in hadith it says that anything that effects ur ability to think is haram and alcohol free drinks do not fall in any of the category and my understanding would call em 100% halal.
now coming to taste, apple cider is ok, but the beer tastes sooo baddd that the first sip u take makes u wana through up, and u wont finish the bottle for sure, but as u keep on drinking it u end up liking it.
ps. started searching the islamic sources to back me up.
Some "alcohol free" beer, lager and wines contain 0.5% Volume alcohol, including that stuff u get in pakistan, blue cans, I think its Bass beer or something. So for this reason I would read the label and keep away from anything containing even a tiny amount.
However, I see no reason to avoid something if it has 0.0% alcohol, if u want to drink it.
I've had non-alcoholic wine b4 and it was DISGUSTING, it tasted like the smell of mouldy grapes.

Ok, but in some medicines, mostly in syrups there's a tiny amount of alcohol so does it mean that we can't use them? That's a question because I've always wondered about it
Sorry if it's off topic
Re: Alcohol free beer and champagne.
^^^ for medication there is an agreement of almost all scholars from around the world that it is halal. u need to consider the main reasons behind forbiding alcohol as i described in my post. intoxication and effect on power of thinking.
Re: Alcohol free beer and champagne.
I thought apple cider was just that...just a thick sort of apple juice....never really knew cider has alcohol in it? Hmm. I have had the sparkling Apple Cider.....like apple soda really...no alcohol. But I was fooled once. For a B-Day me n hubby picked up 2 bottles of apple cider...and at dinner when served....i had this feeling something was wrong. It tasted weird n bitter. Never did I think those had alcohol in it...
anyways stupid me had served my mom/dad/bros...hehehehehe
Anyways we thought it had gone bad or something and threw it out...until later I was reading the bottle to check for expiration date...it had some alcohol content in it....ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Cool.
Re: Alcohol free beer and champagne.
Is that Sparkling Grape Juice from Welch's alcoholic? Its not supposed to be...says alcohol-free! That stuff is soooo good!
There are certain types of alcohol that are strcitly haraam like from grapes, and dates. So I am asking its off topic but sparklling water or apple cider has what kind of alcohol in it?
Nonalcoholic champage would be just sparkiling juice. Sparking water is carbonated water...isnt?
Re: Alcohol free beer and champagne.
It’s all about intentions Mirch :halo:

reminds me of a line from the 13th warrior..where he says he can not drink something because fermented grapes arenot allowed, and the viking laughs and gives it in his hands and says "its made from honey" so the dude drinks it.
Re: Alcohol free beer and champagne.
^ lol yeah that was the best :D
Re: Alcohol free beer and champagne.
i always have them! i love non alcoholic beer and wine! especially barbican!
Ethyl alcohol isn’t it allowed ![]()
Re: Alcohol free beer and champagne.
^^Everything thats intoxicant or effects power of thinking is prohibited.
Foods in USA contain many ingredients in which alcohol is formed during the manufacturing process but the end product does not contain alcohol at all, secondly it is synthetic alcohol which does not cause intoxication, thats why I was saying that ethyl or synthetic alcohol is allowed.

Re: Alcohol free beer and champagne.
All homeopathic meds I take are 70% up to 90% alcohol.
