Al Qaeda bigwhig blown to bits

I have to agreee with N.

If they saw em they had em. They could have arrested em. They were caught.

Sinse when is it ok to strike a person dead without a trial?

Whether they respect our laws or not isn't an excuse to assasinate someone. Thats what they do.

The America I hold dear to my heart doesn't behave that way.

We are obligated to respect our own laws. If we don't? What makes us any different?

My thinking is that if you condone striking someone dead without a trial,
and the excuse is because we are at war with them sinse they are known terrorists.... then it gives the terrorists an excuse to "go ahead" and strike anyone of us dead because they percieve that they are at war with us.

No wonder the terrorism alert warnings are so elevated?

Nadia:
If you choose to limit the scope of your inquiry to Iraqis and Al Qaeda leaders, I’ll concede that US policies have not made them feel safer or bettered their standards of living and have, in fact, had the reverse effects.

While you seem to have taken offense to it (no offense was intended), my point is that a person needs to broaden the universe and time frame under examination when one considers whether the world is safer and/or the people of the world better off because of US policies. People who are blessed with youth often think of a span of 20 years as incredibly long. Those of us who are well into the second half of our lives look back at 20 years as if it is the blink of an eye.

Looking at a longer term, in your opinion, under what set of circumstances could you possibly believe the world would be safer and the people of the world better off if there was still two Germanys, still a Soviet Union and still an Eastern Europe trapped behind an Iron Curtain? Would it be better to still have all those things if it meant that 160 Iraqi children would not die every day? Better for who?

Even looking short term, US policy toward Iraq has made a lot of people feel safer and better off. The Kurds, the Kuwaitis, the Saudis, the Israelis and a lot of Persian Gulf countries that were extremely concerned that Iraq built up the 4rth largest standing army in the world and possessed and used weapons of mass destruction. The thing we will never know is how many people would have died if Saddam had been left unchecked and had the UN NOT imposed sanctions. In your equation it is always 160 Iraqi children dieing each day versus no one dieing. That is simply not realistic. In your world of no sanctions and no check on Saddam, there would have been XXX deaths per day instead of 160 Iraqi children. So, perhaps the Iraqi children would have been safer and better off but some other group would not have been.

One thing does seem certain however and that is that the Iraqi children will be a lot better off if Saddam is deposed, Iraq ceases its efforts to develop WMD, sanctions are lifted, and the economic infrastructure of Iraq is reconstructed by a consortium including the French, Russians, Chinese and Americans, all of whom would love the opportunity.

you wish that al-qaidah be blowed to bits? well firstly look at the country of pakistan so called islamic state of pakistan. it is the state of kufr to be honest, and we should pray to allah that pakistan does not get blowed to bits. al-qaidah had pals who died in the palestine conflict, in the afghanistan conflict, all around the world, so i think those who killed them should be blowed to bits according to mr fraudia. 'strike terror in their hearts' as it says in the quran. i will be blunt here, they are terrorists, they strike fear into the enemies, you look at america those idiots, they are scared like dogs, but before septemeber 11th everything was rosey posey, everything was ok, kill them here and there, we are the best, we are indestructable. now they will be taught a lesson by not words, but by terror. we should not be soft against the enemy, the threat in todays world is not from kafirs but muslims(hypocrites). a joke goes like this, a man walked into a mosque with a machine gun. he goes everybody who wants to die for allah remain in the mosque, everybody left except for 4 people. the man goes to the imam we can carry on all the hypocrites have left! we are quick to talk about those who gives their lives for other muslims, but we are not quick to judge our own actions, and what we have done. musharraf the traitor sells his religion, and people are worried about mullahs being voted as prime minister. but who voted for them? it was people. i think the only way to progress is by islam, and if you do not like the real islam, then you are in loss. because in the quran it says follow islam totally. no half half. no pick and mix. like saying islamic shariah is old fashioned and barabaric. allah does not need followers you need him. this llife is a test, it will not be easy, it will not be what people like, in sahih bukhari, islam came in a strange way and it will return in a strange way (the way it came) so give glad tidings to the strangers. shieikh azzam said if today terrorists means those who fight injustices and fight for the freedom of the muslims land, then i am the biggest terrorist.
