U can get out of US but you would never be able to get US out of you!

Seminole, No Muslim country can claim any such humanity, compassion, or piety. The "we" i am referring to is Muslims in general who should rise up above the pettiness and not treat American POWs in the same manner as Muslim POWs are being treated in Guantanamo. My point is that, if "we" Muslims treat American POWs in the same manner as the individuals at Guantanamo are being treated, then that makes both parties equally guilty.. and we would have no right to complain, thereafter, of the treatment at Guantanamo.

Hypocrisy unlimited is coming from the American's these days...here is a picture in one of the UK papers that reminds them of that.

Saw an interview in one of the news channels with a lawyer/judge who explained that if pictures are taken during the act of capture, or in the field its considered news and is allowable. Iraqi or American.

Was an American however so perhaps biased but did make some sense.

Media is also to blame. They should not be sensationalizing war.

Daily Mirror is one of the very few who oppose the war and find no sympathy for the Bush Blair Project!

i would never see such a front cover anywhere in Canada.
The Mirror has really taken an independent stance on this issue, trying to distance itself from the rhetoric and propaganda being spewed by all sides. Good for them.

Sensationalising?! With catchphrases like ‘shock and awe’ (mock and guffaw) and televising mushroom clouds over Baghdad I think the US government was on a Barnum and Bailey role…….they wouldn’t have wanted news coverage any other way, it was just since they got an actual fight out of the Iraqi’s that they started crying foul over the media.

As many pictures should be taken at every conceivable time throughout the war and circulated as widely as possible. Anyone who wouldn’t want this is a Nazi.

Ummm…why, because she’s “scared”?

I think the Iraqi's should release the woman soldier at least.

I agree on that since Iraqi officials said POW will be treated by ISLAM (although I dont think they care about Islam much) therefore the female soldier should be released.

A soldier is a soldier, no? If she was a civilian caught in middle, yes then she should be released, but I think she was part of military. They may provide her extra care.

Nonsense. She is a soldier captured on the battlefield, so no they should not release her just because she's a woman.

:hehe: Fret I just LOVE the way you speak, it reminds me of myself at times

I don't think they should let any POWs go just because of gender... BUT treat them humanly..... keep them locked for as long as it takes.

Thap your right. As many pictures should be taken as possible so that people can realize how horrible war is. I was thinking of the "exclusive photos" some media is hyping.

And that in my view is sensationalizing and irresponsible. I don't think any of it should be "exclusive". All should see and hear.

Its the manner in the way stories are presented which makes them appear sensationalistic or not. I don't know if I am doing a good job explaining what I mean so you understand what I'm saying, but I think its the medias job to report facts objectively on both sides of the ocean.

I don't think that the Daily Mirror is being objective as its obviously a protest newspaper.

My saying this doesn't mean that I think war is right. I do think the media has a big responsibility in being objective in reporting wartime, especially in view of a future peace.

Rev. Jesse Jackson will go and get her oout of there. If that fails Snoop Doggy Dogg will shizzle his way in there in the cover of darkness and get her outta the hood.

AvgAmericanGirl,

I understand what you're saying.

As of late though 99% of the coverage of the war in the press has been biased toward the 'allies'.

Modern warfare is fought not only on the battlefield but through press and media.
