Why are all the Western news channels not showing these tapes? Geneva convention my @ss. If iraqi POWS are filmed surely the same can go for Americans...
But yeah i agree, totally sick. War should stop..

Yeah, every single officer out there fighting must be terrified but at least the American/Brits have proper clothing/food/back up...
Yeah i just saw the al jazeera tape onlline, it looks pretty authentic.
I feel sorry for the POWs, one of the guys sure looks like a teenager, scared to death, disfigured, wounded face. The lady captured is african american. All wearing military uniform, boots, helmets lying..
Then there were dead bodies, wounds, blood, torn uniform .. tilted heads

From what I saw there was quite a bit of carnage, trucks strewn across the road and bodies lying here and there, all American. This all happened close to Nasariyah. My God I don't think any of the American soldiers actually want to be there either. No oppressed peoples fight so vehemently...most of the battle was carried out by irregular iraqi soldiers.
so it's true, there are some video tapes..... How many Americans captured? I aven't switched over to Al jazeera. for ages did'nt know we had to subscribe to it now, any other channels showing this?
Sounds brutal.
How will they be treated? They are prisoners of war; as such, they should be treated humanely under the conventions of the Geneva Protocol but also most importantly because that is what Islam authorizes (treatment of captured enemies at times of war). If Iraq follows the US example at Guantanamo base - then they will be designated as "non-combatants" and given virtually no rights, no access to a lawyer, indefinitely detained, etc etc.

yaar this is sad HOWEVER, they had no compassion with all the dead Taliban and Al-Qead in Kabul, when there was bodies of them all over the place.

I think the Iraqis do not intend to hold the prisoners as POW's. I think they have said they will be treated as mercenaries...

Sorry, my knowledge of this is really limited... If they're treated as mercenaries, legally how would they have to treat them? Do they get less rights, or more?

I say as Muslims the Iraqi's although suffering civilian casualities should treat the prisoners humanely. Using the US' uncivilised doctrine of holding prisoners in appaling conditions indefinitely as a watermark would be sinking to the same level.
Iraqis dont even treat their own citizens humanely

terrified my ass!!! he fixes things and accidenttly got on the plane which was going to iraq? he wont be as terrified as the ppl on whom they were dropping 2 tonnes misslies..has anyone of you seen the picture of an Iraqi boy whose head was split?? i bet he was terrified too :-/
i dont get one thing .. if they are such cowards why do they ever join the army? army is supposed to that isnt it? they are suposed to fight !
Whatever man, that pile is gonna get bigger on both sides and the prisoners are going to swell too. So it serves both armies to treat prisoners according to the Geneva convention, which the US conveniently forgot at camp x-ray, then all of a sudden remembered today.

Wake_Up_Dead, Maybe he's a repair guy... he fixes the engines, i am not certain. Whatever he is - this doesn't feel right to me. He's still human, bayshak uss nai jo bhi kia ho, yes even if he signed up to slaughter Iraqi civilians. Allah will judge him. Let's not stoop to his level. The US government doesn't care about Iraqi civilians, let alone Iraqi soldiers.... but Rumsfeld and his cronies aren't the ones we have to answer to. We have to answer to Allah - and Islam is very clear about the rights of POWs.
seriously america hasnt left any rules to be followed now .. its a jungle .. if they can attack a sovereign country breaking all conventions .. and then talk of it as they own it and are justified to do everything with it .. they should expect anything in return .. Geneva convention or watever ..
why do you guys think they arent dropping bombs anywhere else .. probably coz they dont wana spend money rebuilding it all .. but the excuse us that they wana save the civilians ..did they spare the ppl in afghanistan? no they dint .. and now they wana 'save' the innocent iraqis..
