Well he bowled 9 overs so there is no way you can say that he is not match fit. Obviously he has to prove his match fitness by bowling consistently in matches to come. As far as his bowling form is concerned, it is understandable to have such figures for some one who is playing a match after 5 months. In international cricket you need some time to regain your form once you come back after such a long period.

Well I am happy that he is getting a dose of humble pie - hopefully he will improve during this season - I would be very afraid, very very afraid, if he is still bowling the same way in about a months time!

Aww Shoaib Akhtar is already proving to be a good luck charm for BD .. just imagine what would happen when he joins their team. Very touching indeed.

Reasonable comeback, wud hv liked to see him perform well above these stats, being realistic means he needs more time to get his rhythm back.
Having Tom Moody as his coach (Worstershire) sud be of tremendous advantage. Lets hope and pray he has the good sense to take advantage of Moody's skills.

A disappointing comeback. Needs more time, those who were saying he should have gone to WI, well on this evidence Lara would have eaten him alive. Go game and raindance.

The current numbers aren't great, average numbers but they become "mediocre" when you look at the opposition. Anyway, best of luck to him in getting the rhythm and coming back into team (and into senses as well :D ).

It is not fair to blame Shoaib Akhter for his failure in one match or in some matches.
Shaoib Akhter ia a class bowler who have his name in the list of the top 10 bowlers ever to play international TEST cricket, when it come to strike rate. He gets a wicket in every 44th delivery. The list includes Waqar Younis (43) as well in the top 10. Just to compare, Glen Mcgrath require 51 deliveries, and Bret Lee require 53.

Now,
Akhter has 144 wickets in 36 Tests, 4 wickets per match at a strike rate of 44. (a wicket in 44 balls)
Bret Lee has 139 in 37 Tests, 3.7 wickets per match at a strike rate of 53. (a wicket in 53 balls)
Akhter is definitely better and deadly than Bret Lee or any other fast bowler who is playing these days.

ehsan bhai mind na kejieey ga ,but i was expecting such following comment even before the match for various situations.
1.Shoiab taking 3-4 wickets and gving few runs:Whats the big deal, it was BD.
2.Shoaib takinng 3-4 wickets against BD and at the same time proving costly during the match : So what he took 4 wickets, look how expensive he was against BD
3.Shoaib taking no wickets and proving costly: He should be ashamed. Doesn’t deserve to comeback

Ehsan bhai the point is when you want to give someone a chance you have to be a bit patient. I am sure you must have followed cricket and thereforre you know that a guy who has not played cricket for 5 months and has not attented the training camps with his team mates, will take some time to get back the rhythm. I have a feeling that in the last few months or atleast since the time i have joined the forum you have been crictical and only critical in every post of yours regarding shoiab akhtar. However its your view point so no one should have a problem against it.

^ You missed the point. Read what you have written, "will take some time to get back the rhythm." If that is true than my comment stands that Lara would have eaten him alive because he is not in rhythm. Than why all this hoo haa about we should have taken him.
On the other hand if he had taken 3 or 4 wickets all his supporters here would have said that if Shopaib was in WI we would have won the 2 test series by 3/0. :p

My view is based on what is best for Pakistan not on individual players. The moment he feels that Pakistan is more important than his inflated ego I will support him.

Yes its a common sense that he or anyone will take sometime to get back the rhythm. And once the rhythm is back we all know how destructive he can be.
But if we apply this theory that since he cannot get the rhythm back in the first couple of matches and someone can eat him alive during those matches, so we should not take him for the rest of his career, His inclusion in his very first comeback match would prove really damaging for the team. Is that right???
As far as your claim that his supporter would have said 3-0 about the 2 match series if he had taken 3-4 wickets, well ehsan bhai right now you came with a statement about his performance after the match as if you were hoping that he won’t take 3-4 wickets. I don’t think someone would be stupid enough to compare performace in1 match aginast BD with a whole series against WI

fkhan2, farti and umar ashraf, nobody is saying he is not a capable bowler. He doesn't need to prove that he is a good bowler (SR 44 etc). There are only two things that are required from him.
Match fitness and rythem will be checked in this county season. Having said that the first match was after such a long time, his performance was not even at par. Hope he will be OK in next matches. But come on farti! don't be biased. 9-36-1 is not an impressive stats. Don't make ur self fool since nobody gonna believe you. Be realistic and hope for the best in next matches.
Discipline is something we will see once he comes back in national side. He doesn't show his innerself when playing with gorray.

Bhai lets start again. The WI series was played recently. Shoaib was not ready for it. Agreed? Than why all this hoo haa about taking him. Let him play county cricket and get ready and than we can consider him for the upcoming series against England.

Yes i agree that let him play county and make himself avaiable for pakistan in the next series. I guess i said that couple of times before as well.
But at the same time try to be realistic. Don’t be a 20/20 cricket follower:D. Every one needs sometime to get back the rhythm. Or i guess you are expecting too much from him.

Lara to be Trained by a Pakistani coach
Brian Charles Lara, the greatest active batsman these days, after recieving a lot of criticism from his fans and critics all over the World, has finally given up. It has been heard (from sources) that Lara have finally found many technical faults in his playing style. Most importantly, Lara has just discovered that even after scoring about 10,000 runs in each form of cricket, one days and TesT, playing two of the best innings in cricketing history and facing almost every bowler in this World, his comments about the game have totally no value. He even was never able to judge a bowler correctly. He is still unable to judge, which bowler is good and which is not.
These things have put Lara in a anxious state. Lara was heard to have even considering retirement, when he discovered that there are people on this planet who have a better understanding of cricket and bowlers than he has. Although still unsure but rumors are there that Lara is considering the possibility of hiring some one from Pakistan as a trainer, so that he will be able to judge bowlers correctly and thus play them in a better way (if there is one).

Inzy and many other super stars get no attention from the media and commentators when Shoaib is in the team. Every one is busy focusing or discussing him. This has created jealousy among other players for Shoaib Akhter.
Inzy and his team of BOYS are just trying to prove that Shoaib is not important and thus they went to India and to OUT OF THE FORM WI, to show their skills and capabilities.
