Shoaib Akhtar will make his debut for Worcestershire against Bangladesh at New Road this Sunday. The sides are playing a one-day match as a warm-up for Bangladesh ahead of their triangular tournament with England and Australia which starts on Thursday, June 16 when England play Bangladesh at The Oval.
Shoaib was granted special permission to play in the match by both the ECB and Bangladesh, as his contract officially starts on July 1st. But he is already getting used to life at Worcestershire. “Shoaib has settled in well since arriving last week,” said Worcestershire’s chief executive, Mark Newton, “and this game is an ideal opportunity for him to show everybody how well he is bowling.”
I already feel sorry for Bangladesh. I hope they don't back out of this warm-up one-day match. With Shoaib bowling, its hardly warm-up anymore. Its as hot as it can get.
By the way, CricInfo got the heading wrong. They said "Shoaib to face Bangladesh on Worcestershire debut". I think it should be the other way round. It should be "Bangladesh to be mauled by the Lion when they play Worcestershire on debut"
Allrite Guppies now that we dont have any more cricket till october how about dedicating a corner of KK to the performances of the enigma that is Shoaib Akhter. Come winter he would be shouting for a place in the team, how about we keep an eye on him so we analyise the merits of his performances in the county twenty 20 exhibition games and the tote sport league. I dunno how to make thereads sticky but maybe mods can make this sticky as well.

yarr how about if we keep all of the shoaib's dramas and related activties during this summer within this thread and keep all other threads purely focused on the respective topics.... if we are able to do this, then it would be really nice for rest of the threads....
I agree 100%. All the different threads and posts on shoaib akhtar adds more confusion to the already complicated situation:D

Akhtar 1/34 against BD??? He couldnt have got a weaker opposition for his comeback match to prove his fitness and yet he has these kind of figures…sad. It goes to show he still needs a lot of match practise.
