Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

Mahsallah, someone from PPP standing upto BB.

Quote: The clamour of the Benazir-Musharraf deal has still not settled, and the issues of what was talked about, what was demanded, and, of course, if there were any talks to begin with, have dominated the media. Yet, once the dust has settled, and the deal is made public, there will remain one important point that isn’t getting the attention it deserves right now: Where does Aitzaz Ahsan stand on all of this?

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

Aitezaz may win his own election with a big margin but to say that standing up to Bhutto will give him a majority in the parliament is absolutely fallacious.

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

I would like to see him as president replacing Mushrraf. He is very well educated, honest & has impeccable integrity, unlike Mushrraf and his lotas buying degrees from online paper mills....

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

The rumours are that he may well stand for the Presidency against Musharraf, which in fact might cause heartache for BB.

Aitzaz Ahsan potential candidate for presidency?

Opposition parties have started to consider nominating Barrister Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan as a possible presidential candidate to oppose General Pervez Musharraf in the upcoming presidential elections.Sources told Online that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and Pakistan Oppressed Nations Movement have all agreed to accept Aitzaz Ahsan as a presidential candidate but the Pakistan People’s Party has not finalised a decision in this matter. The aforementioned political parties have started negotiations, but while Ahsan has expressed his readiness for the position, he has left the final decision to the opposition parties

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

I re-call right, Aitzaz Ahsan was Interior Minister in the first term of BB (1988-1990), what was his acheivment then as Interior Minister of Pakistan?

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

He freed all the political prisoners locked up by Zia-ul-Haq. BTW, interior minister's job is just that, taking care of internal matters, what did you expect him to do?

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

This is an interesting article to read:

*‘Even then, the government could still have performed if Bhutto had chosen her Cabinet well. But she has shown little ability to pick talented – not to say honest – ministers. Important decisions often catch Bhutto by surprise, like Interior Minister Aitzaz Ahsan’s move to harass and expel Christina Lamb, a British correspondent who wrote a controversial story about army officers plotting a coup that was embarrassing to the minister.’ *

Your article from Time Magazine is The Undoing of Benazir. An apt title considering this is what Aitzaz might actually achieve if he challenges BB in anyway.](“http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...9271-2,00.html”)

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

yeah the interior situation in Pakistan during his tenure as interior minister was fantastic.

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

^ It sure was. :)

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

can't be better than what it is today. I never felt so safe going to the mosque like I did on last friday. Really made me concentrate on my namaz, taking me closer to God. Thanks to the 250grams sher though, the closeness wasn't permanent.

:)

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

Alhamdulilallah. That is good. May everyone feel safe during prayers and may god help us from gun wielding mullahs that hide in mosques.

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

We have had the whole ministry, just to do that?

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

The Taliban was created by the PPP govt in that time as well.

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

Correction. Taliban were not PPP's creation. PPP may have backed them but Taliban were and still are, to a large extent, a product of domestic political vacuum.

Re: Aitzaz Ahsan the next PM?

What does Aitzaz Ahsan knows, he is no dictator now is he? He doesn't promise things like I will clean the govt. of corrupt people and then induct the most corrupt people in Pakistan to run his govt. What does Aitzaz knows. He doesn't say that BB and Nawaz are the most corrupt people on earth and then to continue his lust for power goes and suck upto BB. What does Aitzaz know. Only Mush does.
