Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

its futile. 99% of women will look wretched after 3 hrs, 4 hrs tops.. in a plane or car. its a basic law of physics.

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

The few times I've worn track suits on long haul flights, I've felt like a bum. I try not to.

I will usually wear nice jeans, with a pretty top and jacket (unless it's hot at the other end) and I always take a wide scarf/shawl with me, which doubles as my blanket since I'm always cold on a plane.

I straighten my hair and it stays pretty neat throughout and just needs to be brushed out when before I get to my destination.

Make-up is kept at a minimum - lipliner/lip gloss when boarding and maybe eyeliner or mascara if it's a short (not that I sleep on planes, but I hate the idea of waking up from a short doze with flaked mascara).

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

I don't wear sweatpants or hoodies either, but I still go for comfort over style when flying. I always wear a pair of jeans, a basic top, a cardigan/jacket as it gets cold on planes and a pair of flats. I leave my hair down as leaving it up for too long can give me a headache, minimal jewellery and I just apply some concealer on my under eyes.

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

LIKE syraa.

I have decided on a pair of super comfy jeans, a chiffon lose blouse and I have a blazer and these slight wedge chappal designed for walking if anyone knows what I mean.

Hair down with tonnes of this conditioner balm thing on the ends which I love.

Moisturizer concealer under the eye, blush and mascara.

:)

Also Khawa - I never thought of it that way I just like to pretend I am someone super chic and important.

I like your sister though! :biggthumb:

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

I'm not the hoodie and sweat kind either :( But leggings/jeggings/jeans with a comfy long top and a cardigan/blazer and a scarf works for me. For makeup, I would never step into an airport with my hideous red acne scars NEVER! so concealer, tinted moisturizer, lip balm, and mascara works for me. I don't really do my hair ever, so I let em down, and tie em in a bun when I want to. Flats all the way FTW!

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

Leggings with dress and a cardigan - I like to wear stretchy things that can accomodate all my moving around in my seat. Jeans I find can be a bit restrictive, but maybe that's more a reflection on my love of skinny jeans!

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

whenever i've traveled to Pakistan last time was 5 yrs ago, ive had shalwar kameez on, its THE most comfortable clothes i can wear on a plane lol its all loose and i can twist and turn however i want to on the seat. As for makeup and hair... dont wear makeup on daily basis but i HAVE to have Vaseline/chapstick and a thick moisturizer, my skin gets reaaally dry. and omg i just realized ive never been to the toilet on a plane ...

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

Travel should be as light and comfortable as it can be and that means no 1kg of jewelry or makeup to care about or high heal sandles. I have seen our very own desi females coming to airport wearing a jewlery more than an average jeweler carry in his shop in Karachi.

On long haul flights I mostly travel in cloths like these.

If needed, I change to appropriate dress before landing.

When I travelled to Toronto the first time I had straightened my hair from home. The second time I curled my hair the night before and the next day they looked sho pwetty. In terms of makeup I took my MAC moistureblend compact, cream blusher in Lady blush, black liquid eye liner

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

u can always wear something comfy on the plane and then change after you land and before you hit customs. There are washrooms there in which you can freshen up and change before you make your grand entrance to Toronto :cb:

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

I am reading this thread while sitting at JFK waiting for my next flight. Airport styles vary considerably. People taking daytime flights are more dressed up. Those pulling a red-eye like me are dressed in comfy sweats/skinnies with oversized tops, and flat sandals. I think the most important accessory is the bag, one that can hold your valuables and day-to-day items i.e hand sanitizer, mints, pain killers, wallet....
I remember traveling between LHR and KHI and seeing women dressed to the nines. It's like they have to prove that they are worthy of air travel :-) People in the West are WAY more relaxed.

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

Its a blend of comfort and style in long journey (comfort>style). I like to have a 2-in-1 kinda thing, something thats comfy and would look decent enough when I get off the plane, no matter who is at the receiving end.

Jeans, top, jacket and loafers/joggers....heels, a big no
As for the makeup, only chap stick (and that too not by choice)....now that i remember i didnt even carry a moisturiser (my bad) and hair in simple ponytail

As for carrying another dress to change into, OMG, NO....hats off to people who can carry extra stuff for this purpose

I've just come back from Dubai! Going there I wore a light dusky pink/peach dress. Cardigan and jeggings. I was very comfortable! Makeup wise I wore everything - inc sunscreen! Makeup didn't move an inch. I just had to reapply my lippie. Straightened my hair. It just went fluffy as soon as the humidity of Dubai hit it. Coming back I wore similar outfit - dress cardy leggings. Makeup fully. Except eyeshadow lol. And left my hair naturally. I don't like wearing sweats out except hoodies are ok but only if you're going to the 24hr tesco. :)

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

Trackies and hoodies are WRONG for ladies. It's just not cool, unless you are at home and are ill. Leggings and a long tunic or dress, cardi cos it gets coldy. No make up whatsoever as I always sleeps on flights.

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

I wear normal makeup and sleep the whole flight but come out looking fine. I feel urg (partly coz I get air sick) and usually go straight to the bathroom to freshen up, expecting to look disgusting but actually I look fine and my eyeliner hasn't smudged.... just need to blot.

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

Well arent you just naturally lush 24/7.

It's true, iv seened it.

p.s was someone supposed to send me pictures?

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

I like to look clean and be comfortable. I dress is layers as I'm always cold on a plane. Usually jeans, t shirt, open hair, no make up.

BTW My husband's best friend met his wife on a plane. They met, dated and the rest is history. lol I always used to think that only happened in the movies!

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

** Culture ?** Yes my mum strictly tells me to wear Salwar qameez when we go to Pakistan. :hehe:

Re: Airport/Travel Outfit and Makeup and Hair.?

Don’t worry I’m a bit of a snob like that as well :hypo: I don’t wear sweat pants, and if I had to, I would not change into other clothes in those washrooms especially on a long flight. Wear cargo pants! They are perfect. You can get cropped ones too, pair it up with a comfy top and carry a cardigan, hoody or a trench coat if you like.

In case you don’t know what cargo pants are:
