Iranian president says Israel cannot continue to exist
In wide-ranging remarks, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Monday that Israel was an artificial state that could not continue to exist.
"Some 60 years has passed since the end of World War II, why should the people of Germany and Palestine pay now for a war in which the current generation was not involved," Ahmadinejad told a press conference.
"We say that this fake regime cannot not logically continue to live," he said.
The Iranian president has long campaigned against Israel, saying last October that Israel should be "wiped off the map." He has said Europe should find a home for Israelis, who should not live on Palestinian land.

You know, there is a saying in the US, "All politics are local". In the case of Iran, all politics are domestic. The fact remains, the mullahs that run Iran have little to show for their theocratic society. While this recent nut job runs around shouting "Death to Israel" and tries to build a nuclear bomb, he can't hide the inadequacies of the theocratic rule for much longer.
Iran faces a problem similar to much of the EU. There simply are not enough jobs and prospects for a bright future for their very large youth populations. So while President nut job runs around shouting like a rabid dog, only the Muslim world outside of Iran is consuming this. The Iranian society is looking upon him with a bit of caution.

and you know this because you have spent how many years in Iran? What was that? None. Another example of putting your two cents in where you have no clue what you are talking about. Typical of a hindu.

Absolutely unwarranted and unprovoked…
Clearly shows that you are one of those who will stand by side and watch when next Vimal Patak will be killed in another mosque somewhere…
Clearly shows that your views on religion and Hinudism shouldn’t be given weigtage…
Coming back to topic…
The sentence could have been..
"The Iranian society is (Should be) looking upon him with a bit of caution.
^ Is yoour nick NameInUse? Anyway, I am not the one who claims to know everything about Hinduisim or Indians.....folks like NIS on the other hand has nothing better to do than come here and slant everything anti-islam, anti pakistan. I am sorry if you cannot see that.....
Pray tell, what is the state of the Iranian economy? Does anyone remember a few years ago when students took to the streets? That really scared the pants of the mullahs. The the young have no future in Iran. No tech jobs, no oil jobs, no medical jobs, nothing. The Mullahs are taking notice. They threw a barking dog in the pit so people won't notice the sounds of the revolution crumbling.
Twenty five years of revolution and all it got them was a confrontation. No promised rise of the Islamic world, no promised destruction of Israel, no promised paradise on earth. Just high unemployment, isolation, and relegation.
I don't think dis guy yaps like a dog,...so what if he wants 2 make weapons?,........i don't think any country shud have nuclear weapons,.bt if india n pak can have em,.if america n britain can have em,.y can't iran?
I appreciate dat dis guy is standin up 4 his brothers n sisters in Palestine,.......wich no other 'Muslim' leader has done bcos dey r 2 scared of the western leaders n dey wudn wanna annoy dem,..........................go Ahmedinejad !!!
If you don’t like something in other person, please don’t become like him. Than you are becoming what you are not liking…
Don’t generalise or you are creating bias.
Unemployment is 30%, with the worst unemployment in young people. Foreign capital has fled, and 80% of the economy is dependent on oil. Gasoline is virtually given away, and no one will lend them money. What to do? Prop up the economy by inflating oil prices. And take a page out of Arafats' playbook and create a "bogeyman" to deflect blame from the Mullahs to an expernal force. Add a huge dose of nationalistic pride, and you have Nutjobs high wire act. He will fall. There is a relatively large middle class merchant population who cares not for Nutjobs radical agenda. They want peace and prosperity. They will take him down as the unemployed youth take to the street.
The amazing thing once again is that Muslims will support anyone who thumbs their nose at the US, regardless of how stupid and ill advised the agenda really is. Iran is a country that will go through it's oil reserves in 50 years and have nothing to show for all that wealth. They will have no global business model, no center of excellence, just a rusting bloated military, underutilized youth, stagnant culture, and no oil. Their weath will be squandered.
^ Why is so much focus on "unemployment" ? I understand that it is a big factor to consider in an economy, but as "outsider" what the heck does it have to do with us or anybody else?
I didn’t knew those republican nutjobs where banned. hahhahaahhha
Iron is a regional power in the Middle East. THey make their own cars, helicopters, etc. THe whole mus-lim world is with Iron. anglo colonolial propaganda against Iron is not going to change that.
Unemployment is a measure of failed leadership, and failed domestic policies. When the unemployed are young and restless, they tend to execute violent overthrows of governments. Creating a strong nationalistic/religious fervor directs the anger and frustration outward, rather than inward at the politicians who gave them the misery of unemployment.
This whole nuclear effort on the part of Iran is to whip up nationalistic pride. Once this crisis is over, the youth of the country will look around and find that things are worse, not better, and will wonder what all the lather of nukes has really brought them.
Funny how Muslims can be the ultimate cynics when it comes to Western politics, but they fail to pull aside the curtain on President Nutjob. Anyone who is willing to try to poke a stick in the eye of the US is fine with Guppies, but no one looks at the level of misery in the country itself, and the actual results of leadership.
Ohioguy, "failed leadership" doesn't apply to Ahmed only, he just became president, for how many months? It would be "past" leadership that should be blamed, so stop mixing the unemployed stats with current president. 30% unemployment is due to decades of ignorance by the governments. Let him get the nukes, once he gets it and the world recognizes that Iran is force to reckon with, there wouldn't be as many threats, as many sanctions (or threats of) which would allow foreign investments to come back to the country and youths can get the jobs.
I think he is just trying to protect his people from an invasion. If he keeps quite, would the U.S and others consider not to invade Iran and exploit its natural resources like oil?
Nobody is on Iran's side from the start. They are alone not by choice or because of Ahmadinjad but because the world community did not give them a choice. They have made Iran use this nuclear arsenal as their only chioce to protect themselves.
Iran is not a democracy, it is a theocracy. President Nutjob is the new smoke and mirrors, the smoke and mirrors du jour if you will , of the mullahs running the country. The mullahs are the ones that pull the strings, and nutjob dances. The revolution in Iran has failed. Nothing that was promised in the revolution has come to pass, and the people who promised them then, are the same ones in power now. The government of Iran has failed it's people miserably.
If Iran does get nukes, what next? Simply because Iran has nukes will the world start to trade with Iran? Will all the sanctions be lifted? Will the Iranian economy magically sprout wings and take flight? The answer to everything is no. Things will only get worse. There will be no influx of investment, no new jobs, no new businesses. What will happen is an arms race in the Middle East. Egypt will try to get the bomb, because Arabs don't really consider the Pakistani bomb an arab bomb. Syria will try to get the bomb. Saudi Arabia will try to get the bomb. The middle east will continue the downward spiral, only this time armed with nuclear weapons.
