Ahmadi Students Struck off from Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad

I hope the UN investigates this and other human right abuses against the minorities in Pakistan. This is getting ridiculous.

Mirza sahib himself declared all muslims as kaffir.

The UN is irrelevant, just like yourself.

And the saga continues; Actually I am not as worried about the students, its a trial for them, their forefathers went through tougher trials … I am worried about Pakistan. Bad days are on the horizon.

FAISALABAD, July 3: Most shopkeepers in the city district observed a shutter-down strike on Thursday to press the authorities for registration of a case against the Ahmedi students who had been rusticated from the Punjab Medical College.

The strike call was given by the Anjuman-i-Tajran city and clerics of different sects. All the main markets, including Clock Tower bazaars, remained closed the whole day through.

Anjuman president Shahid Razzaq Sakka and secretary-general Mahmood Alam said they were observing strike as a last resort as the local administration and police had failed to register a case against the Ahmedi students found guilty of “preaching their faith and removing the posters of rival sects”.

The successful strike in the district, they said, indicated that people wanted action against the Ahmedi students.

Sources said Senior Minister Raja Riaz, the DCO and the DIG police did not appear for negotiations with the traders, though they had fixed a meeting with them at 11am at the Jamia Masjid.

They said officials on Wednesday night tried their level best to convince the traders of cancellation of the strike call, but the latter remained adamant.

During the course of speeches, many traders and clerics of different sects demanded a case against the Ahmedi students under sections 295 and 298 of PPC. They passed a resolution through which they stressed that “all those non-Muslims enjoying high ranks in any department must be removed immediately”.

A traders’ action committee meeting has been convened for Sunday to plan a future strategy.

Re: Ahmadi Students Struck off from Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad

Why to do shutter down strike in the whole city over some students in a medical college.

I think the issue is now politicised for personal/party gains.

Moonshiner bhaijan. How about the terrible way the religious minorities are treated in Pakistan - are these minorities irrelevant?

No, but what can the UN do to help the minorities in Pakistan and alleviate the plight of the Ahmadi Muslims?

This is yet another mean-spirited behavior of Pakistani business class’s unholy alliance with the Maulanas.

These Tajrans (business people) never learned the fact that business does not favor extremism. Business should never mix orthodox Islam with selling e.g beans. Otherwise you would end up selling orthodoxy and religion should never for sale.

From the time of Romans to Muslims, to Europeans, every successful civilization shows that businesses must remain secular in their outlook (unless you are the only shop selling holy books).

Europeans suffered when they tried to Christianize their businesses and they thrived when they allowed non-Christians to establish along side Christians.

Sadly Pakistani tajran will never learn this important lesson.

p.s. Islamic business practice was based truthfullness, honesty, and trustworthiness.

These tajran will do everything to deceive their customers. No Islamic thought stops them from selling adulterated food. But heavens would fall if you just name a religious buzzword like Ahmadi. This nothing but hypocritical.
