Both of these men should be arrested and jailed.

Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community

Islamabad: Gunmen shot dead a member of the Ahmadi religious minority on Saturday, an Ahmadi spokesman said, five days after a Muslim leader denounced Ahmadis on a popular Pakistani television talk show.

Luqman Ahad Shehzad was shot in the back of the head near Bhiri Shah Rehman village, a small community of Ahmadis in the Gujranwala district, said Saleem ud Din, the spokesman.

He is the eleventh person killed for being Ahmadi in Pakistan this year.

In 1984, a Pakistani law declared them non-Muslims and made it possible to jail Ahmadis for “posing as a Muslim” or “offending a Muslim’s feelings”.

They are often denounced by Muslim leaders and targeted by violent extremists. Some clerics promise that killing Ahmadis earns the killer a place in heaven and distribute leaflets listing their home addresses.

On Monday, Muslim leader Syed Arif Shah Owaisi appeared on a popular morning television show hosted by Pakistani host Aamir Liaquat Hussain.

“This enemy is a common enemy and is an enemy of all of Pakistan. And this enemy is the sect of Qadiyani,” Owaisi said, using a derogatory term for Ahmadis. “All us Muslims should recognise that enemy."

Blasphemy is punishable by death in Pakistan. Scores of people have been lynched after being accused of blasphemy.

Saturday’s killing was the second time Hussain’s show has hosted religious leaders denouncing Ahmadis. In 2008, he hosted scholars who called for the Ahmadis to be killed. Within a day, two prominent Ahmadis had been shot dead.

Hussain was not immediately available for comment.

La howla walla quwata illah billah

I agee shamraz that that molvi shd be arrested and prosecuted. I saw that video posted by ghalib. The question was about terrorism and that idiot molvi brought qadyaniat into it and labeled qadyaniat for all the problems in pakistan. Idiot amir liaqat loved it and the whole audience clapped as well.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

Keep it up .... And then PPL wonder about the Mess the country is in?!

When TV remains one of the main dource for Information (and education) the killing is indirectly (and at times directly) incited on a populat TV Programe what do ppl expect to happen ... Shower of rose petals?!?!

Waiting for the usual Ahmadi bashers to appear and either blame it in indirectly on Ahmadis ir derail the thread

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

The same audience wonders where the hatred and violence in Pak stems from.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

Violence and hatred is fine, as long you are not the target. Some people don't get the concept of hatred breeds hatred, violence breeds violence.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

PM Sharif had claimed a few days back that hate speech will no longer be tolerated. Its very telling that on this issue, he is completely silent. Its really a sad testament to the depravity of the Pakistani psyche, that Anti-Ahmadi rhetoric is acceptable and not considered hate speech.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

People in Pakistan dont generally think... These people in the audience are the same people who although completely rational and descent otherwise, will support murder for even the slightest perceived slight against their religion. I personally know a few of these types, who although lovely people otherwise, defend the murder of Salman Taseer and are perfectly fine with all Anti-Ahmadi laws. Its disturbing to see people express such an ugly side. Turned me off from religion early on.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

Well, first the claim came out Sharif, secondly does he even know what 'hate speech' means?

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

Bhaiyon, sorry to read about the death but is it yet proven that the guy was killed by some one on the basis of he being ahmedi? cant we just wait to see what investigations reveal rather then starting the usual blame game.

The same happened in case of that ahmedi doctor, yousaf ahmedi and our master abdul qudoos case. i am not asking you not to mourn, but why blame it on some one ?

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

I wait for the day when blasphemy fatwa is issued against Am ir Liaquat. Clearly he is above the law and even in his second such incident he remains untouchable.

Sooner or later he will also fall in the same hole he digs for others, then either he will run away to kafir country or killed by na maloom afrad.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

Regardless of why the guy was killed, it would be nice if they muzzled these mullahs and prevent actual hate speech. The point is that there is hate speech all thrughout Pakistan, and it is not being curbed.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

He knows how to exploit peoples sentiments. He knows how Pakistanis think. He's very clever. Much more so then abdul aziz or Junaid Jamshed. The guy is a con man, this is his bread and butter.

I think he can weasel his way out of anything really.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

Qadianis zahiri tour per Qadiani hain......non-muslim hain.......to un ko marnay ka kia jawaz hay jub k ek bohat clear hadees hay k ''Jis nay ek insan ko qatal kia, us nay puri insaniat ko qatal kia''

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

Yes prevent the actual hate speech. Start with those who call all others who do not agree with their baseless claim as son of bit$3$. (need reference :) ).

You need to know what actualy was said in the speech , before calling it a hate speech.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

Although I consider Aamir Liaqat to be a charlatan and a fraud and he should be investigated for his accusations of Ahmedia community, but still connecting these two incidents is knee-jerk reaction.

We don't really know if that person was killed solely because of his religious ideas. The killer should be held accountable and convicted regardless of the religious identity of the person killed.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

Did you not watch the clip... "they are the enemy of Pakistan..."

Maybe its a problem with your comprehension, but declaring an entire group the "enemy" is considered hate speech.

Son of a b? What r you talking about... seems you have a chip on your shoulder. A reference would be great thanks.

Re: Ahmadi man killed days after cleric dubbed community ‘national enemy’ on TV show

“Those who oppose me are wild boars and their women are worst than *****es.”

**Sorry for previous quote as i was writing from memory-This is the correct wording, i will dig and provide image later inshallah **
(Najmul-Huda, P.15-Roohani Khazen volume 14 -i think)

and another example of hate speech

Interesting. I wonder if sunni muslims are ready to put their own religious texts under the same scrutiny, as they put ahmadi ones?

Is the above post any different than the articles found on anti-islam websites? You know, they also have "proof".
