Ahle bait

Re: Ahle bait

True if they were believers themselves, and if you wish to learn who among the muslims of the time were deserving to be termed believers (including wives and ashabs) watch this video.

Re: Ahle bait

Sad how many of my Sunni brothers and sisters have been manipulated by Wahhabis left right and centre for the last 86 years since the barbaric raids and murder of tens of thousands of sayyids (if you don't know are descendants of Imam Husayn (as)), living in Makka and Madina by ibn Saud and their helpers.

Re: Ahle bait

Rasoolullah saw was accompanied by his wives in the Last Hajj (Hijjatul Wida).

Re: Ahle bait

not just believers, the wives of the Propeht (saw) were given the title of “mothers of the believers” cuz of the high status that they hold in Islam…
Allah chose the best of the women for his Prophet (saw)…

i did not see the video, but if this molana ishaq thinks that the wives of the Prophet (saw) were not beleivers, then may Allah punish him alongwith others who think so…
it indeed requires great hatred and envy against such pious women to label them among the disbelievers…
may Allah punish all those who do not respect the beloved wives of his beloved Prophet (saw)…

Re: Ahle bait

Strange, I just said almost exactly the same thing to armughal, but instead referred to Rasul-Allah (saws) instead of mothers of the believers.

It’s strange how armughal can use such a statement for the daughters and wives of Rasul-Allah (saws) but cannot use it for Rasul-Allah (saws) himself.

Re: Ahle bait

YSM, perhaps you consider, respecting Ummulmomineen Ayesha siddiqa ra a fitnah, right?

Who has given you the authority to compare Ummahatul momineen, who do you think you are to tell people, which one is better than the other.

I suggest, you stop taking this responsibilty and worry about yourself and let the sunnis worry about their own selves.

We very well know, how some people come claiming the love of AhlulBayt, but all what they have is Bughz of Ummulmomimneen in their hearts.

Re: Ahle bait

I'm not telling anyone, I'm making this issue apparent into the realm of people's awareness.

PERHAPS you are wrong in saying perhaps I consider lady Aisha (ra) a fitnah, and PERHAPS you are confused to think that I am comparing them, perhaps you should stop judging my position and I will not retaliate towards anyone who accuses me of masquarading or being a shi'a or being this or that, which does nothing but show the insecurity of others, it doesn't hurt me the least bit.

"We"?? hmm, you seem to be more than one person, or are you a spokesperson for others now?

Re: Ahle bait

Ya Sultan Madina - No I don’t have to learn from you about the greatness of Lady Khadijah (ra). I, and others whom you may lump together alhamdulilah know her virtues and sacrifices for Islam and undaunted support of the noble Prophet (pbuh).

She is never under attack but the other wives of the noble Prophet (pbuh) are. So naturally they need defending. That’s the reason they get mentioned.

You seem not to mind that attack.

Re: Ahle bait

You're wrong. Anyone with unbased attacks against umm al-Mu'mineen bibi Aisha (ra) does not have my support and I condemn such things. Who are we to speak about them? We are no one to say anything against them, these are the wives of the Holy Prophet (saws), I am not in disagreement with you in this regard. If anyone has spoken derogatorily towards bibi Aisha (ra), kindly point me towards such comments in this thread and I will address them.

Likewise, anyone with unbased attacks against Imam Ali, bibi Fatima, Imam Hasan and Imam Husayn (alaiyhimis-salaam) is not tolerated by me, I don't know about what anyone else thinks and I am not here to force anyone to believe anything. The Truth stands on its own and does not need yours or my help.

The fact of the matter here is, that the topic of discussion is who are the ahl' al-bayt, and I am in support of the view that it is Rasul-Allah (saws), Imam Ali, Fatima, Hasan, Husayn alaiyhimis-salaam, in lieu of what Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal has recorded in his Musnad, one among the greatest of Sunni references about Ahl' al-Bayt:

Imam Ahmed Ibn Hanbal says:

A. Ahmad has related from Muhammad bin Mas‘ab from Awzā‘ī from Shaddād Abī ‘Ammār who said:

I approached Wathilah bin Asqa while a group of people was with him and were speaking about (Imam) ‘Alī [as]. When they got up and left, Wathilah said:

**Do you want me to inform you what I had seen of the Messenger of Allah (s)?

I replied in the affirmative. Wathilah said:**

**I went to Fatima [as] to enquire about (Imam) ‘Alī [as] and she said that he had gone to the Messenger of Allah (s). I waited for him to come and saw the Messenger of Allah (s) approaching with ‘Alī, Hasan and Husayn. The Prophet entered with Hasan and Husayn holding either of his hands, and he went near to ‘Alī and Fātimah and made them sit on their knees in front of him and Hasan and Husayn. Then he covered them with his cloak (kisa) and recited this ayah:

“Indeed, Allah desires to remove uncleanness from you O Ahl al-Bayt and keep you pure as pure can be.”
(Holy Qur’ān 33:33) *
*

Then he said:

“Allahumma haula’i Ahlu Bayti wa Ahlu Bayti ahaqq
(O Allah these the people of my house and the people of my house are [certainly] most meritorious).”

Re: Ahle bait

Imam Ahmed Ibn Hanbal says:

A. Ahmad has related from Ibn Numayr from A‘mash from ‘Adiyy bin Thābit from Zirr bin Husbaish from (Imam) ‘Alī (‘a)] who narrates:

By Allah! One of the covenants which the Messenger of Allah (S) bound me with is this:

**“None will bear enmity towards me but the hypocrite and none will love me but the faithful believer.”

ibn Hanbal, Musnad, hadith no. 642 (Ahmed Shakir edition)

C. Abu Ahmad (Muhammad bin ‘Abdullāh bin Zubayr Asadī) has related to us from Sufyān (Thawrī) from Abī Jihāf from Abi Hāzim from Abī Hurayrah who quotes a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (S), saying:

**“Man ahabbahumā faqad ahabbanī wa man abghazahumā faqad abghazanī, ya‘nī Hasanan wa Husaynan”

(Anyone who loves them, I mean Hasan and Husayn, indeed loves me, and anyone who hates them, surely hates me).

Re: Ahle bait

As related by Khalifatur-Rashid, Hadhrat Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radi'Allahu anh':

  • I saw the Messenger of Allah pitch a tent in which he placed 'Ali, Fatima, Hasan, and Husayn. He then declared: 'O Muslims, I am at war against anyone who wars against the people of this tent, and am at peace with those who show peace toward them. I am a friend to those who befriend them. He who shows love toward them shall be one of a happy ancestry and good birth. Nor would anyone hate them except that he be of miserable ancestry and evil birth. * Recorded by Abu Ja'far Ahmad al-Muhibb al-Tabari, in Al-Riyad al-nadira (Cairo, n.d.), Volume 2, page 199

Imam Tabari is a Tabi'een, and one of the top most authentic early sources in Sunni Islam.

Re: Ahle bait

**"Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said regarding 'Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husayn (Allah be pleased with them all): I am at peace with those with whom you make peace and I am at war with those whom you make war."

Re: Ahle bait

I say that Ahl' al-Bayt in the sense of his (saws) dwelling are his (saws) wives.

But the people of his house (Ahl' al-Bayt) in the sense of his (saws) lineage, are himself (saws), Ali, Fatima, Hassan, and Husayn (alaiyhimis-salaam).

Therefore the flag bearers of his (saws) family are his (saws) progeny (Ithra), those who descend from him through the marriage of Ali and Fatima (alaiyhimis-salaam). These are the flag bearers of Rasul-Allah's (saws) Ahl' al-Bayt, this is clear through Rasul-Allah's (saws) clear condemnation against anyone who comes against them (Ali, Fatima, Hassan, Husayn alaiyhimis-salaam).

Re: Ahle bait

Jazakhallah khayraan brother Ya_Sultan_e_Madina

It seems that we are now getting somewhere.

So you agree the Wives and Prophet’s Progeny are part of Ahlul Bayt (Allah be Pleased with them all).

  1. Wives on merit of being his life-partners in this life and in Hereafter

  2. And the Progeny on the merit of carrying on his bloodline.

It was and is Allah’s wish that this noble bloodline be carried out through Lady Fatima (ra).

I don’t think any body has any objection against the hadith you have quoted.

I just heard them today in the Juma’a Khutbah at my local Oxford masjid. And the Imam also quoted nearly similar in favour of his companions:

“When my Companions are mentioned then withhold” [Saheeh, at-Tabaranee].
And he also said, “Do not abuse my Companions, for if any of you were to spend gold equal to (mountain of) Uhud in charity, it would not equal a handful of one of them or even half of that” [al-Bukharee, Muslim].

And he said, “Whoever abuses my Companions, upon them is the curse of Allah, the angels and all the people” [Saheeh, At-Tabaranee].

As Ibn Mas’ood said, “Indeed Allah looked into the hearts of the servants and found the heart of Muhammad (saws) to be the best of the hearts of His servants and so He chose him for Himself and sent him as a Messenger. Then He looked into the hearts of His servants after Muhammad (saws) and found the hearts of the Companions to be the best of the hearts of the servants. So He made them ministers of His Messenger (saws) fighting for His Deen. So whatever the Muslims hold to be good then it is good with Allah and whatever the Muslims hold to be evil it is evil with Allah.” [Ahmad, at-Tayalasee]

In short we are demanded by the Prophet (pbuh) to love his family and Companions. And have no hatred towards them.

And as you have rightly said that his Ahlul Bayt (family) are his wives and close blood relatives (Progeny).
