Hello I was just in the meeting new people board and in one of the post was keeping religion to yourself. Many people talked about ahemdi’s. I was wondering what is a ahemdi exactly and what do they believe in and why do some people not consider them muslims. If someone could shed some light on these topics, it would be appreciated.
Soha,
Even though I am not an expert in this subject matter, I can tell you the bases of why muslims consider Ahmedis non-muslims. Before I start, I wanna point out to any reader that I am merely stating the state of mind of majority of muslims, hence, don't try to involve me in any disputable discussion:
According to average muslims, Ahmedis believe in Ghulam Ahmed of Qadian who has considered and asked the people to believe in him as a Prophet after Prophet Mohammad(p.b.u.h) and in some places he has also claimed to be Mehdi (the last leader of Islam that will come near the end of the world). Since they don't believe in Prophet as "last Prophet", muslims consider them non muslims. Government of Pakistan has also established this opinion of Ahmedis being non muslims. This is a loose interpretation of what I have heard about Ahmedis. I am sure many will respond to you with different reasoning For & against it.
P.S. You can look at the topic "Who is Mirza Ahmed" by Mudassar dated 10-23-98 as well for more information.

THEY ARE NOT MUSLIMS PERIOD!!! THAT IS BECAUSE THEY MADE ANOTHER RASOOL OR PROPHET "AHMAD". THEY SAY THAT THET DO NOT BELIEVE IN THAT MOHAMMAD IS THE LAST PROPHET!!!!
i would be previliged to present my own essay about this topic, hopefully tommorow.
i have decided NOT to write anything about my religion over here, because in return i will get nothing but swear-words, and sick remarks, on me, my community, and my religious figures.
such remarks can be seen in some of the threads in this forum, and despite constant requests by some of us, they have not been removed.
so just keep in mind that an ahmadi is a person, who has no civil rights, no human rights, no protection, and deserves to be sworn at, killed, hanged and jailed.
if i try t write something in my defence, i will get to hear that i am a "kaafir" , and might be charged with serious accusations.
so isnt it better to keep quiet?

Its a good 1, thanks for sharing
please note that the best people to tell you about ahmadiyyat are the ahmadis themselves..
these sites mentioned above, just present a one sided , biased prejudiced point of view…
the official ahmadis website is:
Qadiani dudes, please do not bring the argument that Ahmadi's are the human argument. Jews, chritians, hindus etc are humans too,ok. Please be aware that when you die and go in the grave you will be asked three or 4 questions and one of them will be about Our last prophet, Mohammed (PBUH). Anyone who denies the belief in Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) as the last prophet, the very meaning of the kalma is not to be considered a muslim by any stretch of the imagination. Paagal Insaan, what do you mean by biased opinion in the web site TS gave the URL for ? If you are saying biased then by deductive logic and reasoning, I've gotto think that you are a Qadiani too. We muslims, believe in the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) as the last prophet sent to us by Allah(SWT) and this is a FACT and a universal truth and not somebody's opinion.
I will not discuss this matter any further because its already been discussed in previous threads.
Later on

No one discussed how this religion came into existence. May be I can tell you something about it. This religion is not too old like all other religions in the world. When Britishers invaded India and ruled for almost a century, they made Muslims as their main enemy (This thought was coming from invasion of Vaskoday Gama who first came to India and killed great quantity of Muslims because of his hatered). As policy Britishers tried to spoil our religion by hiring that guy Ghulam Muhammad (Used to be a tatto of english men). With his help they created this religion and he was able to gather most of the illiterate poor Muslims of villages etc. But all of us know that how he died. Allah (SWT) gave him such a miserable death that he has become the symbol of lesson for the rest. He died with extreme diarrhoea in toilet with his face inside it.

qadyanis are kafir.
Doesn't that the Quran teach muslims that once a person declares him/herself a muslim, it is between Allah and that person. We do not have the right to decide who is a true muslim and who is not.
Didn't our Quaid say in his inaugular address to the nation: "You are now free to go to your mosques, you are now free to go to your churches, you are now free to go to your temples..." Then why cant we let people practice whatever religion they choose in peace?
A comment:
If we Pakistanis stopped hating each other, perhaps Pakistan would be a much more pleasant place to live today.
From,
A non-Ahmadi Pakistani
Ocean....Its true what you said. But being a Muslim you are obliged to defend the point of views which Islam taught us. And of course religious obligations have bigger priority over national obligations. To fight against all those who are making alterations in your religion is called JIHAD and is FARZ on every muslim when required.
Now in Pakistan every one has independence of worship for their religions but it doesn't mean that anyone create their own religion and call themselves to be muslims. This is not allowed neither by constitution of Pakistan nor by Islamic law.
Patriotic ...... GROW UP!!! be a good muslim
yourself first before deciding who is muslim
and who is not!!!
Bholay....You need to investigate things before you talk....What I said is perfectly in accordance with Pakistan's constitution or by Islamic law..If you still don't beleive then there is only one thing left that you must be Ahmedi yourself. And don't pass childish remarks like Grow up kid or something like that...You need to have strong arguments for what you want to express.
Can any knowldegeable ahmadi explain how Mirza Ghulam Ahmed fits any of the Hadeeths that describe Imam Mehdi and the events leading to the comming of Mesiah.
Unfortunately NONE of the Hadeeths fit Mirza
Ghulam Ahmed. They are several authentic hadeeths that describe how, where,
what Imam Mehdi would come, do etc. and same is for the comming of Masiah. The biggest sign is that of Dajhal (anti-christ) that will apear before the arrival of Imam Mehdi and Masiah.
So if Mirza Ghulam Ahmed claims to be the
Imam Mehdi or the Masiah than why didn't the
Dajhal appear ?
Ahmadis intellectuals please enlight me.

Patriotic, but why does it matter if a Ismaili calls him or herself a muslim? If they honestly believe that then what is wrong with it? I know what Islam is and I am secure in my beliefs, therefore, I have no problem with letting my neigbhors have his or her own beliefs.
My point is this: If I live in a community of a 100 people and a large number of them are involved in corruption, such as, cheating, bribery, stealing, and killing.
Then among those 100 people 10 decide to follow a religion that 'seems' to be different than mine but they still call themselves muslims.
Personally, my main concern as a member of the above community would be to fight the immense corruption that is making it impossible for the honest people of my community to live in peace.
What possible good can I do to my society by concentrating my energies against these 10 people. If they are honest and live peacefully that is more important for the survival of my community in the above situation.
Patriotic, I am not trying to figt, just trying to understand.
Your input would be appreciated. Thanks.
Assalam-o-Alaikum,
I am living in Canada but I am a Pakistani. I read your question about Ahmadiat. I am an Ahmadi MUSLIM. I believe in the Unity of God (Wahdaniat, God is one) and I also beleive that Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the prophet of God. He was the KHATUM-UN-NABIYIN (the seal of prophets). The Quran is the last Shariat and cannot be changed. I beleive in all the prophets which have came before prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). I beleive in the Angels of God. I also belive that there will be a day of judgement after this life. I also believe in Good and Bad Taqdeer (I don't know what is the exact translation of this word in English).
I think that this is quiet enough to say that a person is Muslim. but the biggest believe that i have about this matter is that if a person says that "I am a Muslim" then he is a Muslim. Nobody else has a right to declare him as a Muslim or Non-Muslim. It is a matter between that person and the Almighty Allah. Some people have discussed the point that calling ahmadies as non-muslim is correct according to the constitution of Pakistan and Laws of Islam. In my response I would like to say that the Pakistni Constitution is made by the people who are sitting in the National Assembly. The people who drink, who are involved in bribery (Rishwat), who eat Haram money, who kill each other, who are distroying this country, who don't even know how to read Quran and how to offer prayers. Who has given them the right to make the Islamic laws. As far as the second issue is concerned that this thing is correct according to the acts of Islam, I would like to say that this is wrong too. We all know that Musalima Kazab claimed that he is a prophet of God in the life of prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and the Holy prophet didn't say any thing to him. Secondly, a Sahabi killed a person in the war who embraced Islam jsut before being killed. That sahabi said that he was accepting Islam just to save his life, so I killed him. When This was told to the prophet Muhammad (S.A.W),his face turned red and he said that did you tear his heart to see what is in his heart.
I have not discussed the differences of beleives in Ahmadi Muslims and the Non-ahmadi Muslims because of the shortage of time that I have. Tommorow is the first Fast of the month of Ramazan. OH!! from this discussion of Ramazan, a point has just came in my mind that we offer prayers five times a day, we fast, we give Zakat, we perform Haj as all other Muslims brothers do (although the Pakistani government has banned the visa of Ahmadies for Haj, from the last 25 years). I will provide you more information about this in future.
