a friend of mine is getting married with a guy 4 years younger than her and they are masha allah so so happy !
Our Prophet (PBUH) married Hazrat Khatija who if my knowledge is correct was 40 at the time of marriage our Prophet (PBUH) was 25.
I think the half-your-age-plus-seven rule is pretty much industry standard. Shouldn't matter who's older, but the younger the girl the more babies she can make.

Totally depends how much moola you have . If you are rich and loaded then 20 years is nothing , if you have a good enough job , then may be 10 years . If you are jobless then you might even settle for 2-3 years .

But...yeah...b4 him..a guy younger than me was a HUGE NO NO...but I have learnt that it doesn't matter at all.

Difference shouldn't be more than 4 or 5 years.
One of our relatives who was about 32, married an 18-yr-old girl. Yikes. And no, they don't live in a pind. They are from Karachi.
I also know a guy who was younger than 20 when he married a woman about 35 years of age. Double yikes. I don't know how they are doing now.

) i wouldnt mind increasing those 3yrs to 5 yrs and the 9 to 12…
but then as others have said it, to me age difference doesnt really matter as long as we ‘click’

i don't think age matters. i know a couple with 15 years age gap - yet you can't tell. they are so perfect and beautiful together mashallah.

I noticed out of all my married couple friends, the happiest couples are where the girl is a year or two older than the guy.
Two of my guy cousins also married older women. In fact, one married a white chick thats 5 years older than him. It's ok though, cuz she's super hot.
Personally, I wouldnt mind marrying someone who is up to 3 years younger....anything more than 3 years I'd feel weird though.

Me and hubs are 8 years apart. Ideally I think it worked out great for us but I do think that there should be atleast 5 years age difference in a couple!

Good to hear everyone's views. Most do think about 3-5 yrs gap is good enough but there is no such hard and fast rule.

I've turned 23, he's gonna become 30 in two months. Works happily. Disagreements solved as people not solved on age criteria.

my husband is 10 years older than me and we are doing fine. I don't think age difference matters really.
