anyway i just wanted peoples opinions? is a 7 year age difference in a potential partner too much?
I havnt met the guy yet but im put off already :S

Sheyn makes a good point. Whether or not it bothers you is the main thing here.
However, there's another side to it...you may just find yourself liking him despite the age difference. You won't know unless you give him a chance...just don't feel pressured to agree to anything more than one meeting if after meeting and talking to him, you still can't stop feeling "put off" by the age difference.
I knew a girl who had the situation in reverse...she wanted someone much older because she was VERY mature for her age. When her friends were discussing the latest trends, she was fretting over international politics...at the age of 10. Her IQ was scary.
She thought she couldn't be happy with someone her age. And now we're in present day where she's married to someone a few months older than her...he too is scary smart and they argue like mad over politics. They're ridiculously happy. :)

Its somewhat relative.
If you're 18, and hes 25, it might seem like a big difference.
If youre 25 and hes 32, then the same difference seems smaller/better.
If youre 30 and hes 37, then the difference is hardly noticeable.
If youre 35 and hes 42, then youre both the same age!

Women get older faster so atleast 5 yeat age difference is nice so its just 7 years its not a big deal.

I doubt it hun. It all depends on your lifestyle. I know family members that are amazingly active in their 40s. YOu cant even tell their age.
And I dont think he will have a walking stick at 37...if he does...help him walk. You would want the same done for you, right?
Does he look his age? Maybe if he looks younger, that might help.
Aside frm all this, sheyn is right. Its not about the age difference being too big or small...its whether or not this bothers you.
If you're turned off, leave it alone.
If you meet him and he turns out to be fun and sweet and caring just the way you like them, go for it.

it all depends on minds of both persons,,,may b 7 year age diff can b more powerful than 3 or 5 years...i have noticed personally dat sometimes 2 or 3 years age diff creates problems especially wen couple is in their very young age 20 to 25 ect n sometimes 7 year age diff suits a girl in sense of understanding ect n yeah mayb he looks younger or might b jolly...so 7 years age diff is nt a criteria at all i personally think...but in last i must say this dat any body's personal satisfaction is the most important to make this decesion.

My hubby is around 7 years older than me but I think it should’ve been at least 10 years because people 3 years older than him in age are making double the amount of money in his industry…but it isn’t all 'bout the money, is it?

love has nothing to do with age!
i know someone who is 21 years and has fallen in love with someone 38 years! they are getting married in 2 weeks time. when they are together you just can't tell that they have almost 20 years apart!
