Girls delay marriage altogether, regardless of whether or not any potentials that might come up live with their families or not.

Most of them want to delay marriage due to education and getting their career set up. No self-respecting girl wants to enter into a situation where her in-laws will force her to stop the education or work. And after all that work a girl puts into her work, who would want to be told that you can't do the job you love anymore or you can't go for that degree you wanted? Plenty of such sob stories in the desi community. Its enough to keep lots of girls away.

What is required labor market mobility?

Oh and it doesn't matter if a girl still lives with her family. You can live with your family, live under their rules and STILL have freedom. By freedom, I mean that at 3 pm on Saturday afternoon, you are free to do whatever the hell you want. Go to the mall, go read a book, go hang out with friends whatever. Just because someone lives at home doesn't mean they never leave it.
