So on a thread where we were discussing Afridi's test dismissals.. you were talking about Sachin's ODI stats? Without mentioning ODIs? To the innocent bystander it would look like you are clutching at straws.
Test cricket is the pinnacle of cricket. Best form of the game. Surely test stats are a better indication of an overall "cricket" player.
"Cricket is our religion and Sachin is our god" <-- is obviously just a funny punch line. As far as ODI stats go.. Sachin is surely the all the time best ODI batter (he is not THE best all time test batter though). His stats speak for himself. In terms of strictly batting on any given day he is not THAAT far ahead of Punter or Lara.. but in terms of longevity and the fact that he is done this over 20 years is beyond incredible. The only reasons why you wouldn't appreciate or admit to this is prejudice and bias. Perhaps you should listen to what some Pakistani legends have to say about Sachin.

hmmm, thing is afridi`s USP is his ability to do the chaukay chakkey, no one wantsto see him stumbling around gathering ones and twos and so thats why i think test cricket aint for him. finally he understood that. and yeh, hes not in the same league as sachin, who is admired for whatever he does, his patience, skill, ability to score at any pace. afridi is a one trick pony.
