Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

There wasn't any aggression in it, plus it is insulting to match officials (Match Refree, umpires) if Speed is bring in such accussations against players. Indirectly, Speed is pointing to match officials as incompetent. In such scenario two things must happen, ideally three:

  1. Chris Broad should simply understand the ground realities, and be consistent since in first place all match officials thought it as a normal thing, so let it be a normal thing. Afridi didnt smacked any one, so he should be cautioned.

  2. PCB should protest Speed biased interference, I am sure it is first time Speed is bringing charges/accusation against a player on his own, so he should be reminded of false accussations.

  3. Mostly such mo.....rrrrrrrrrr.... aaaaaaaaaaaans like Speed doesn't have any dignity, so in the events Broad just caution Afridi then this bag of trash Speed should resign.

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

what a jackass, from the video its very clear that afridi reacted by jerking his bat in the spectators face, he deserves every bit of punishment.

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

Ok the video clearly shows afridi was trying to hit the spectator, not just waving it threataningly. Let him fry,

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

Why dont they appeal, then the ban gets delayed till the appeal comes up right.

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

^Yeah, but that can very possibly screw up his Super-8 matches. Right now all he is giving up are two lousy WC group matches (including one against Ireland).

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

You consider the game against West Indies lousy? I think it is the most crucial game as the points earned from this win will carry into the super eights phase. A win here would literally mean a semi final slot.

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

Not necessarily. We will have 6 more games in the super-eight round (effectively matches against all the major test playing nations). We would still need to win atleast 3 or 4 of our six super-8 games in order to be in contention for a semis berth regardless of what happens against WI who I totally agree won't be so easy to beat on home soil.

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

I still think a 3 match ODI series with Kenya, Zim, Bangladesh is the way to go.

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

I think Pakistan is gonna lose against West Indies in the opening game, Afridi or no Afridi.

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

Afridi has claimed that he was dealt too harshly for a "minor" offence. When is he ever going to learn? Waving a bat at a spectator's face is NOT a minor offence? In USA, he could've been arrested for battery.

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

Afrid says :

Our team will definitely win the World Cup. All the unfit Pakistani players would be completely fit before the World Cup, said a very optimistic Afridi.](http://www.zeenews.com/znnew/articles.asp?aid=353911&ssid=88&sid=SPO)

Re: Afridi in hot water (ICC accuses him of code of conduct violation)

West Indies is a mediocre side. We should be able to beat them, Afridi or no Afridi.
