there's not a single player in this team capable of becoming captain. all of them fall into one of the following 4 categories. some like Afridi fall in multiple categories: 1) not good enough players like Butt, Afridi. 2) not acceptable to other team members due to their own immaturity or because of the team's shenanigans such as Younis and Malik respectively. 3) unprofessional, undisciplined idiots like Afridi, Asif. 4) too laidback like Yousuf.
what a crisis... not a single player able to become captain yet every single one fancies himself as one. damn... might as well bring Wasim back and make him captain. and to think that people were always baying for Inzi's blood when he was captain. the guy obviously knew how to handle the team properly. now I wish we hadn't run him out of the team...
I never said I will stop supporting our country when Zardari became President (I don’t recall if I did), I don’t recall if in past I made claim that I will stop watching/supporting our team… may be my memory is bad, but honestly I will do it this time

I don't endorse what he did and in my opinion he should have got a much more severe punishment. But the fact is that he has openly admitted doing tampering saying that he was desperate to win. He has been punished and we have to move on.
No one is perfect in our society but we still give second, third, fourth... countless chances to everyone. So why not Afridi????
If we have to punish Afridi by not giving him captaincy then lets be fair and see how many times we have awarded others while they were committing mistakes after mistakes or involved in corruption?
What about all the selfish captains from the past all the way till Yousuf who all promoted nepotism/favoritism and discouraged selection on merit?
The fact is all those who enjoyed authority have been involved in wrongdoings and we all unconsciously or consciously accepted them because sometimes we had no choice or sometimes the mertis outweigh drawbacks.
You may not agree with me right now. Most of us including me are upset on his actions but the fact is in the current circumstances and with the options we have, Afridi is the only choice we have. With all his limitations I saw our team played with unity under him for the first time on this tour.

Wesay how about the incident when Broad rolled the ball all over with his spikes during last series with SA? Guess what, that incident looked quite bad to but match referee did not even notice!
not defending Afridi but I was surprised the way all commentators pounced on Afridi (rightly so) and Broad did not even get a hearing because 'SA' did not lodge a complaint.
As I said earlier if he does take over then that will be it for me until someone else takes over. I was one of his supporters for all formats but after this I changed my mind.

How do you know whether people who are disgusted by Afridi’s act are not disgusted by Zardari?
