Violence and hatred is blind, unless opposed and condemned, it will eventually engulf the perpetrators too. Sadly we are still unwilling to unequivocally condemn violence committed in the name of religion.
today they beat her to death, tomorrow someone might beat them to death on the same issue. Crying foul then will do no good. Time to take a clear cut stance, before it becomes too late.

In another thread titled weird in General, there was a person being sympathetic to violent response when someone insults religion. Stating the violent responders are the ones who are injured.
Until such attitudes change among non violent people, things will not change. Unfortunately, there were SEVERAL who agreed with said person. So such support is not isolated.

Its spreading , now it has reached Afghanistan. I thought Afghans were proud people to do something so low like this for a non issue.

This, I know Afghanistan wasn't like this, and I hope it doesn't spread any further into Afghanistan, lets just hope any sort of influence stops now, before it reaches Pakistan.

Any sane person living in pak/Afghanistan or India won't burn the holy book as widely known there will be some men coming for revenge ( ego tend to be bigger then religiosity, especially mullahs )
I think there's more to the story, maybe she is mentally weak or some other thing
Burning was already worse and they still threw it into water

Sadly this is the reasons why I do not want to go back to Pakistan, just the sheer violence of some people

I saw the video. The mob was beating the poor woman and at the same time members of the mob were consoling each other because they were so upset at the "supposed crime".

The irony is that she “had just finished a degree in religious studies and was preparing to take a teaching post.” She would have been teaching the Quran that they accused her of destroying.

There are plenty of fake mullahs in the third world muslim countries who happily perform such crimes upon being paid by groups/individuals with a certain agenda. It is much easier for these fake mullahs to get away with these crimes by using 'blasphemy' card. I have not read the news because this is nothing new. We keep hearing such news on almost daily basis. Generally, common humans are treated worse than donkies.

Maybe you should read the article. The recent incident described in OP had no mention of a mullah. It was simply a mob that burn the lady who they thought burnt the holy book.
