Its not Pakhtunkhwa, damn it - its NWFP. Learn to look at map of Pakistan first. We would never give in to the demand of naming the territory to PakhtunKhawa- already we have loads of problem and not another one in the name of separatism. An afghan could mean a Pathan, a Hazara, a tajik or just about anything. So, you are not an afghan but a pakistani pashtoon. Yeah Afghanistan is a internationally recognized country of beggars and looters where there is not a single road and ppl still use donkey-carts. NASA wanted to simulate walking on the moon and they thought there would be no better place than Afghanistan to do their exericise

I see no problem in naming the NWFP after the majority living there... he only reason people are against it is that they are afrain that it will promote Nationalist tendancies. But, I think this sends the wrong message. The govt has to trust its people...

Why naming, re-naming, re-re-naming when there is no development, proper education, food and roads? what purpose does it really serve. Its like Indians- they are addicted to re-name their junk cities- Bombay to Mumbai, Calcutta to Kolkata and so on.

of course he is Afghan, all pakistani pashtuns are afghan. even the id's cards state their qaum is afghan. i dont know about the new ones but the old id cards said they were afghan as a qaum. this policy came under jinnah the most pakistani of pakistanis!

i believe he can be afghan and pakistani at the same time. afghan is an ethnic term while afghani is a citizenship term. he can be an ethnic afghan in pakistan. if you cant accept that then you deprve them of their 5000 year history.

just as one is sindhi balochi punjabi kutch gilgiti ....he is afghan. and he origaintes from erm....quetta, peshawar, kohat or maybe even karachi. you should nt stress yourselves over this term .

Afghani is for people living in Afghanistan, the tajicks, uzbeks, pashtuns, and farsiwaans, nothing to do with race or anything.

As a pashtun I have the right tomaintian my identity, this identity which predates both Afghanistan and Pakistan, so I could care less. Oh yeh Pak patriot, why don't you leave the foreign country you are in, get a Pakistani passport (if you don't have one), and return back to your home country. You talk alot of smack, ut I doubt you would pull the weight for Pakistan.

Coming back to the topic it is very evident that the Pashtuns from Afghanistan hate Pakhtuns from Pakistan, and will betray and kill them if they get a chance, just like how they left them to die when the amreekiz attacked, to be made prisoners by the NA. The Pakistani Pakhtuns who went there kept singing 'Saano Nahr Walley Pull Tey Bula Kar, Taliban Kithey rah gaye?'

I don't know where you are getting this from?lol, There is bitterment, but that is more regionalism, and tribal conflicts than 'hatred'. We have stuck together when invaders came as proven many times before. A fake line created by Farangs doesn't change a bond, a nation. The Kurds are in an even worse place, but they likepashtuns, feel for reuniting their divided people. Pashtuns on boths sides of the durand were treated like crap by the northern alliance, and where did you get this info from, tmx305 atleast back your stuff up.

Paris ton noor ji, He is just questioning the existence of neverland- Pakhtunkhawa. Since you are a pure European you dont know that there is a movement for renaming PakhtunKhawa by Pathans. We should all discourage any movement by anyone in Pakistan leading towards any sort of separatism.

since i’m a pure european (ie, not american) i’m VERY educated and know VERY well that movement…and i beg to differ but i SUPPORT that movement:D
It’s pashtoon right to have their land named after themselves…and not some acronym:DNWFP:confused:…it’s unglamour, and difficult to learn…adn on top of that it means nothing:mad: (north western frontier province…while all others provinces are named after the orignal ethnicity it’s a shame for all pashtoon!)

Yeh I mena balochistan is the biggest misnomer of all. The north is complete pashtun territory, why is the province called balochistan when half the population is non-baloch. I see noone protesting to that, but if the pashtuns name their province their rightful Pashtunistan/Pashtunkhwa/Afghania. This was its proper names, the british named it NWFP, FATA, PATA, etc.
