Adopting A Child from Abroad

Re: Adopting A Child from Abroad

As I said, the issue is more in minds than an issue in practical life. whether it is mehram status or inheritance issue or naming.

for a mehram POV.

my mother or sister did not walk around the house in tank tops and shorts anyways. and I don’t think in our culture many mothers or sisters do.
so being careful about clothing is not a massive issue except for those who are very observant of hijab in front of everyone who is na mehram, relatives included. wearing in front of your adopted child what you wear in front of nephews is the same.

so if it is not the whole dressing at home thing, the fact that technically you can marry them and vice versa does not mean that an adopted kid would think about getting jiggy with his mum or vice versa. or with other kids growing up in the household.

I can see where some concern comes from, the rather open mixing of cousins in Pakistan and the extremely high number of inter-cousin marriages may make people think that if it can happen among cousins, than two people growing up under the same household and raised by the same family, if religiously they are not prohibited from doing it with each other, they may just get involved. It says something…i don’t know what specifically, and about who…but there is something there that is rather troubling.
