I am saying that the people who do not have insecurities about themselves because of their skin colour are not discriminated against. I have seen Pakistani girls with fair complexion are generally much more confident and vibrant than those with darker complexion specially when they are in a group consisting of both types.
Someone mentioned south Indians but I have always found them to be much more cultured and humane than north Indians or Pakistanis. They do not have an inferiority complex just because of the tone of their skin.
Today I walked past some very dark looking south-indian types, and I remembered this topic.
This is going to sound stupid but I firmly believe that if you're fat you should marry a fat person. Similarly, I would not marry a dark skinned person. I would want them to be the same colour as me. As for friendship I don't care what colour my friends are. Whether someone's Nigerian or English should'nt really matter.

I think this may have something to do with the "connection" thing, it's easier to connect with someone who is similar to u.
I'm very fair skinned and Mr Halwa is very dark in contrast. We often get comments from people who make weird comments about how odd it is we got together, but may be it's bcos they don't usually expect it. I don't know.

i make friends with people of any color, race, religion, and sexual orientation. their skin color means nothing to me, maybe SUBCONSCIOUSLY, their overall attractiveness means something to me..but skin color certainly does not.
as for marrying someone, again, their skin COLOR does not matter...their overall look does. the guy doesn't have to be as light as me, and i won't self consciously be running around slathering on fair-and-lovelys if the guy's happens to be lighter than me.

that is a little shocking. but at the same time it is true that people are attracted to those who are similar to them. it's completely natural. you know how people always say that couples start looking like each other after they're married? i think unknowingly you become attracted to someone who looks similar to you and after you get married people begin to notice the similarity.
also, it's very stupid of people to make rude comments just because your husband is darker than you. and the term "mr. halwa" sounds so cute! haha
