I love adding random people on Facebook it has become a habit. I have close friends too in my list but I guess one day I want my friend list to hit 2,000 than maybe I'll scale back.
I use to hate fb... butI have joined for networking purpose.
how do you set up setting for strangers not be able to read all the stuff you post with friends/family and vs. verse?

I've always rejected requests from from people i don't know, even if they're friends of friends, and i've put many acquaintances on limited profile. I delete 'friends' from whom i've not had any contact for years, try and keep my list less than 100 (it's time for some more deletions). One thing about facebook that annoys me is that my friends can't see pics i've been tagged on if their privacy has been restricted.

It just makes you wonder if they are feeling "good" by popularity for have so many friends on list. I bet they do not even interact with 375 people out of those 400 friends.
My list is 31 lol but that's because I have added 8 of them just for the hell of it. I do not know them and I have never met them. It bugs me that they are on my list.
My purpose of adding them was just to get to know what's so great about adding strangers and letting them in to your daily life.
I will remove them - as I see no point.

^ Absolutely. Why should I give access to my personal details to some stranger? Most of the 'friend' requests I get are seemingly from people wanting to boost their own numbers, and I'd be surprised if they speak to even 50 people on a regular basis. Plus all those pages we become fans of are added to our friends list, and all members can have access to your profile. Therefore I put those pages on limited profile too!

No its not okay. It makes men look like pedophiles. I get requests from young guys ALL THE TIME.
Facebook changed our privacy settings which is a huge burden and annoyance, my profile pic is visible to everyone now. At least my REALLY personal information isn't viewable, otherwise, my profile would've gone to hell.
I would never add anyone randomly. I only add people who I have talked to personally before and who I actually like. People who are [EMAIL="$@%^@$"]$@%^@$ will be deleted off my list or not added at all.

Plus note: I have like, 145 people on my list. But its not like I don't talk to them. I would delete anyone who's unnecessary. Half of them are my school friends, and the other half are my cousins or other family members.
Having more then 500 is just ridiculous.

Since I first got my facebook, I set it on the most private setting, when you couldn't even find my name just by searching and had to have a friend who had me added. I'm guessing it is't like thatanymore, but all my things are still private, I never add anyone I don't know, and I have deactivated my account a couple of times, but since I am addicted to farmville, no go for now lol. I just hate people who have like 1000 friends, it's like really? You talk to all of these people? You KNOW all of these people?

My profile has absolutely nothing serious on there. It's one big joke. My email is real but only friends can see it. And people can only see my profile pictures (not tagged ones). Also, I do not add family to Facebook. Parents should not be allowed on there....
